Who will be leaving soon?

Re: Cyclone promotions
Just read something on Twitter about Frampton resigning as a director of Cyclone Promotions.
I just checked Companies House and he did resign last week on the 21st July.
If nothing else the timing is weird - why would he resign the week before a title eliminator? If this was just an admin thing then surely it could have waited?
I don't think that the lad deliberately fell over in the shower, but I wonder if Frampton - usually ultra professional - weighed over on purpose so he could break his contract with Mcguigan ?
Also rumours about him signing for Matchroom - however some of the things Frampton has said in the past, including threatening to fill Eddie in, would make this unlikely.
Would he go to an American promoter and cash in on the old USA / Irish thing?

And people poked fun and me when I said something was up about the fight! Nothing has rung true.
Re: Cyclone promotions
I don't get the conspiracy theories around the fight when the injuries leading to the cancellation were pretty blatant.Coco wrote:And people poked fun and me when I said something was up about the fight! Nothing has rung true.
If the rumours are true and Frampton is leaving then the fight could still have happened. Either way, surely Gutierrez would have been quietly told to say he'd hurt his back rather than have a few teeth knocked out!

Re: Cyclone promotions
McGuigan resigned from the company, too.
Re: Cyclone promotions
Exactly!! In a limited company, being a Company Director doesn't necessarily mean you're a shareholder, although you may be. You can also be a shareholder without being a director.mickey1975 wrote:McGuigan resigned from the company, too.
If this is the only evidence of Frampton leaving Cyclone then I'm not holding my breath. There were rumours of a fall out around the Avalos fight & that turned out to be nothing.
Re: Cyclone promotions
This whole event has turned into a disaster on so many fronts.
Firstly ,this was a 'homecoming' fight for Frampton and his northern Irish fans - 9,000 tickets sold. That's now gone with all the fans getting their money back , the hall, and security to pay for.
Channel Five would have all their equipment and staff in Belfast, hotels paid for plus transport. Also re-scheduling on a Saturday night for the channel.
Cyclone Promotions made all the plans and organisation which has now gone to waste. Local fighters on the undercard sold tickets to their friends, and that money has to be returned.
There is now no chance of Frampton fighting in Belfast this year given that there isn't an indoor venue big enough.
I'm assuming that promotional outfits take out insurance for such a happening, but I don't know if that would cover all the losses.
I would say that this is likely to accelerate a deal for Frampton to fight Selby and Taylor to fight Burns within the next 3 months so that Cyclone can recoup their losses.

Fake News Mickey !
Barry resigned as a Director on the 19th May 2015 - over 2 years ago!
Frampton resigned last week - if nothing else, don't you think that the timing is a bit weird?
Current Directors of Cyclone Promotions are:
- Blain Mcguigan
- Jake Mcguigan
- Sandra Mcguigan
- Shane Mcguigan
Re: Cyclone promotions
Frampton missing the weight set alarm bells ringing, I saw on another website that Hearn has signed him on a 5 fight deal, nothing has been announced, so rumours.....dirk2686 wrote:I don't get the conspiracy theories around the fight when the injuries leading to the cancellation were pretty blatant.Coco wrote:And people poked fun and me when I said something was up about the fight! Carl Frampton seems to be providing all of the McGuigan family with a wage.bripez wrote:robster wrote:Exactly!! why do you think Bazza is so lip-chewingly hypertense about Frampton's career?
Re: Cyclone promotions
I can see a rerun of the Eastwood v McGuigan situation in the near future!
Is it true Frampton still drives a Ford Sierra?

Re: Cyclone promotions
The greatest line of Scott Quigg's career was when he was being teased by Frampton about getting a smaller purse than him said "I'll probably be on more than you when you've paid all Barry's family"!, or something like that. Class, from a man not known for his quick wit.

This is the place he was selling 2 years ago, before he fought Quigg and Santa Cruz.Coco wrote:I can see a rerun of the Eastwood v McGuigan situation in the near future!

Can't quite make out the two cars in the first picture but they're definitely not Sierra's and the house is massive, he's not struggling financially.

Unless I've missed it It's abit strange that we haven't heard anything from either frampton or any of the Mcguigans to laugh these stories off if there is nothing in it.
Looks to me like something might have gone down- I doubt Hearn will be involved but maybe Carl has made some kind of move to have greater control of what's going on in his career.

Re: Cyclone promotions
Its a Parody Boxing account on Twitter called Boxing Kingdom that started the rumours, the same page started a rumour a few weeks ago about Sky charging £100 for Mayweather/McGregor and the place went into meltdown, loads of pro boxers commenting etc, even real news outlets were running stories about the rumours
Re: Cyclone promotions
Would you blame Frampton ?
They have built their business of back of his name - he was meant to fight at Windsor Park - lack of cash. Rematch Santa Cruz in Belfast - binned lack of cash.
Ends up in front of 6000 fighting Gutierrez and cancelled.
Could Cyclone get Fight v Selby ? Money wise for purse of both men - without TV deal you aint got enough money to back these shows.

If Framptons thinking logically - that's the only way he's getting the big paydays abd fights before he retires.samwbr wrote:So he's not going back to Hearn then.
