I don't see why anyone would want the Dirrell boys in this tournament?

Andre just got KO'd and Anthony hasn't got the heart. Both fakers and moaners.

Both near retirement anyway.

Skoglund has to travel to Smith's hometown because Smith wouldn't travel to Dirrell's for a world title fight.

Smith would rather fight for a fake title in his hometown than fight for a real one in somebody elses.
Groves and Eubank jr are the only legitimate title holders in the competition.
Smith has to face the winner of Braehmer (LHW boiling down) and Brant (MW blowing up) should he beat Skoglund. Looks like Eddie may have greased a few palms in this one...

I'd say Fielding.
Fielding or the Rebrasse fella. I actually thought Rebrasse beat Fielding if I remember correctly.

Nothing confirmed or agreed yet.

Matchroom in Liverpool on 30th Sept as well - Sean Dodd v Tom Stalker on the bill.

There is talk about whether Callum ducked Dirrell on here.

It is a clear as day duck.

They LOST the purse bids which gives DIRRELS TEAM a right to decide where the fight is. Yes it was agreed for September 9th in LA on the undercard of the Mares Santa Cruz rematch. However Santa Cruz and Mares couldn't sort it out so Dirrels team wanted it in their hometown the day before. This is very understandable as THEY WON PURSE BIDS. Callum Smith then PULLED OUT OF THE FIGHT.

Stepping in is a fighter7 years Callum's junior David Benevidez. Who already has a better win on his resume ( Porky Medine who Callum smith should have been fighting in the past year). Funny BS reported Benevidez was fighting Dirrell on SEPTEMBER 9th in LA which is what Callum agreed. However it does look like Mares v Santa Cruz is in October 7th so probably be in the undercard if that.

Can't wait to see Benevidez smash Dirrell to bits. Massively talented fighter and in my opinion will be multiple levels above Callum Smith when he peaks.

The skoglund fight isn't too bad probably a European level fight. The standard of fights Callum smith should have been having after fighting Fielding.

I have never rated Callum Smith as high as others because Joe Gallagher fighters always get exposed at a top level even when they may have looked good at lower levels.

Callum is an excellent body puncher, the best out of that stable. I just feel his matchmaking since the fielding fight shows a lack of confidence in him from his trainer and promoter.

Porky Medina is a glorified fringe contender...he's like a worse, SMW version of Chisora.

This tournament is much more lucrative than fighting Dirrell. What makes that a real title? I hope this is a sign of things to come with these tournaments.

I found the seedings odd if i am honest.

The top seed should really be fighting the winner of the 4th seed fight imo. That is how the playofgs are done in football. 3rd plays 6th and 4th plays 5th with home advantage in the second leg for the higher placed side.

This way it has been set that still get a few all brit fights however it is smith who has arguably the easier route in the second round if he beats skoglund.

It will be interesting to see him fight someome a similar size to him. I expect smith will win and think he can take the whole thing if he can get past groves Jab

So he ducked a world title for money?

Do you think the tournament will go as planned without pullouts, injuries, lack of TV deal?

I don't think he ducked anything. What makes a vacant title so important? Yes, I think these tournaments will go on as planned. No reason to doubt that Schaefer and Sauerland can put on 15 fight cards with 50 million dollars backing them. It's Boxing, I'm sure something will go wrong along the way, but they have a much better set up than the Super 6. Smith would have been a fool to pass this up for an Anthony Dirrell fight.

PS: If anything, Dirrell was the one that ducked the fight. It could have been part of the tournament.

It's not like a new Hearn signing to go straight into a proper fight. So I'll believe it when I see it. Announcement on that card next week by the look of it.

No question that will be a final eliminator for Burnett if the case. IBF recycling Hall again as usual.

I would actually fancy Hall to win and gets robbed.

I'm intrigued with how Hearn deals with this.

When Ohara Davies fought Josh Taylor Hearn wouldn't even acknowledge the fight. When it would be beneficial to give it exposure because he fighter was in free to air.

Now how will he be with this. Callum is his fighter ( one of his best) however it is not in his best interest to mention this at all because he has a show at the same venue two weeks later.

They'll need to try and source some locals for Smith undercard but Matchroom shows already grabbed a lot of major ticket sellers in the region.

I seen Luke Blackledge name being banded around - dont know how they'll get much undercard without Matchroom/BN fighters - will need to be small hall back ups.

Also no TV deal yet confirmed.
