Question about show fights.
Question about show fights.
Once in awhile, amateur boxers will have show fights , meaning the rounds will usally be a little shorter, they will wear larger gloves 14-16 oz. , headgear, back before it was mandatory, and fight in smaller venues. Many amateurs have fought alot of these, do they count on the fighters amateur record? We used to have these back in the seventies quite often.

We still have them, it just makes the number of bouts up on some shows and its a good way for new boxers to get the feel of boxing in front of a crowd with out the pressure to fight to win.
There is no score from judges and both boxers will have there hands raised, so it dosent count on your record, its just a sparring Exhibition.
Juniors have them called something like Junior gloves where they also have no winner.
