Does anyone know if this fight was filmed for TV?

I dunno either,but f it was,you would think it would have appeared in one of the various newspaper's Television programme schedules,
even if it was taped-delayed.
sounds like something a lot of people would have stayed up late for to watch on the Telly,particularly
back when there was only two channels to watch.
BBC 1
and of course ITV.
(BBC 2 didn't launch until two months after the fight in on.April.1964 )
BTW Did the citizens of Hong Kong watch a lot of BBC shows back then ?
BTW Could the fight have been aired live on British radio ?
(Who wouldn't have wanted to see or hear it?It must have been massive at the time )>

so it was broadcast live on the radio at least ?
you know if the set that all up for radion,most likely it was either video-taped or filmed for a delayed showing on the BBC or elsewhere.

This bout was filmed by ITA and shown in 5 regions at one minute after midnight, a couple of hours after the bout ended. It was then shown again the next evening across the remaining ITA regions. ITA became ITV. The film will almost certainly have been deleted in the late 70s/early 80s when so much else was lost.

Did you watch when it was on back then ?
BTW What was ITV excuse for their wiping so late (early 1980's)
just sounds like there were some people back then purposely and knowingly trying to delete English and British history.
(maybe they thought the British shouldn't continue being a proud people)
anyone find out who the Ass-wipe was at the BBC who was responsible and ordered the wiping in the archives there in the early 1970's ?

I've got 25 programmes for Cooper's fights but not that one.

I'll tell you a story about this fight - which was almost cancelled on the night. The Board had introduced a new rule regarding the length of hand bandages and Jim Wicks, Cooper's manager had missed it. The Board inspector came into the dressing room and handed over the bandages to Danny Holland, Cooper's trainer who was stunned. That's when the row started. Wick's demanded the Chairman of the Board to attend and he refused because he was only spectating. Wick's sent Cooper's brother George to get the promoter Harry Levene telling him the fight was off unless he sorted it out.
Levene and finally, the Board Chairman, arrived. It turned out the inspector had only delivered bandages for one hand, and the fight went ahead as scheduled.
The follow up was that the new length of bandages were still deemed insufficient in the future for Cooper's brittle hands. Years later Jim Wicks showed 'somebody' the Board stamp he'd acquired. What they would do in the dressing room after the board official departed was re-bandage the hands and apply the 'acquired' stamp.
