The most difficult question on this forum, it is impossible to answer, I will try, but.......
CW - Gassiev
LHW - Beterbiev
WW - Spence
LW - M. Garcia
God Almighty knows the rest........

Re: Biggest Puncher by Division currently
HW - impossible to decide, there are at least five super-strong punchers.
SMW - nobody
MW - Lemi, GGG and Canelo are very, very close....I do not know a lot about Charlo bigger brother.
LMW - nobody
LWW - nobody
The rest - nobody knows............
I would like to see more from Kudryashov (CW) at the highest level, there is obviously a great potential, but I have a some kind of strange feeling about him. Breidis is very strong, too, but I think that Gassiev is #1 puncher at CW.

Re: Biggest Puncher by Division currently
HW: Wilder (the eye test suggests Wilder though the other candidates have 10-20lbs (sometimes more) weight advantage over him so it's hard to say)
CW: Kudryashov (Gassiev and Briedis would crush him but he has a bit more snap in his punches than them)
LHW: Beterbiev
SMW: Groves (not by much over Benavidez. 2017 Abraham isn't in the conversation)
MW: Golovkin
LMW: dunno... maybe Lubin? DG Chavez?
WW: Spence (Kava is in the mix)
LWW: dunno again... maybe Prograis?
LW: M Garcia
SFW: Vargas (Davis is in the mix)
Will come back to this for the other divisions shortly.

I'd change Wilder to Klitschko. Power in both hands. Other than that, sound list.cuban glass wrote:HW- - Wilder

Interesting at SMW has no real punchers. I'd say Abraham is a bigger puncher than Groves, but albeit years ago.

Re: Biggest Puncher by Division currently
HW: Wilder/AJ/Wlad...hard to split them. I'd probably go with Wilder or Wlad for stronger evidence of one punch power. AJ more of a guy who clubs opponents with combos, which he throws well.
CW: Kud (KO'd all his opponents and never gone past 7, has one punch KO'd some decent opponents in under a minute, was hurting Durodola more easily than Breidis did. Limited though and expect him to lose to Dorticos.)
LHW: Beterbiev or Stevenson (Beterbiev caught my attention KTFOing people in the amateurs, and he seems to hurt whatever he hits. Stevenson has great pop in that left and has scored some nice KTFOs. Kovalev is just a tad beneath them IMO)
SMW: Callum Smith (a bunch of first round destruction, including over a guy who took Degale the distance, plus a scary KO last fight over Blackledge)
MW: GGG (not so much a one-punch guy, though he does have that great KO of durable Ishida, but thudding power in all his shots)

Re: Biggest Puncher by Division currently
I think people have it wrong with GGG vs. Lemieux debate. I think Lemieux has more natural power. GGG just delivers it a lot better, but I think, without a doubt, Lemieux is the hardest hitter in that division. Guy took out Stevenson in less time and more brutally than GGG.crusader wrote:HW: Wilder/AJ/Wlad...hard to split them. I'd probably go with Wilder or Wlad for stronger evidence of one punch power. I think Klitschko is the hardest hitter at HW currently. Wilder and Joshua don't come close. Klitschko might be the hardest puncher in HW history, maybe. Dude dropped Povetkin with a flick of his wrist.
Yeah, I do think Smith is heavy-handed, but he doesn't have the resume Groves does. Groves dropped and hurt iron-chinned Froch and hurt iron-chinned Chudinov. His power has been tested and looked legit.
At LHW, Kudryashov has both the resume and knockout ratio to show he's a scary 1-punch KO artist.

Would mirror mine except I'd favour Wilders overhand right to be the hardest shot of all at HW
Would be tempted to go with Kovalev at 175 also
Re: Biggest Puncher by Division currently
Joshua is unquestionably the hardest puncher at Heavyweight... Wilder hit Duahaupas with the kitchen sink and could barely hurt him... Povetkin drove Duhaupas around the ring with his power and crushed him...Wilder hits real good.. Not as good as Joshua.
I like Betebiev at 175.. He hits people with grazing shots and hurts them.. When he connects it's good night sweet prince. Then it's Golovkin at 160..
Eubank at 168.. at 200 I'm not sure, maybe Briedis.. Spence at 147.. Crawford at 140.. Mikey Garcia at 135.. Lomachenko at 130.. and Russell at 126
The little guys below Featherweight there're more tossups.

Eubank
Dude can hardly even drop guys now, and he hits them continually with loaded up power shots. Nick Blackwell would be in a better situation today if Eubank could really bang.

Re: Biggest Puncher by Division currently
Why GGG is not only the hardest puncher in the mw division but p4p hardest puncher in boxing.
When i want to know how hard someone punches i start to watch training videos. I focus on the sound of the impact of the punch on mitts or heavybag. gggs sound of impact is from another galaxy. Journalists who have long been working on boxing said they never heard those kind of sounds of punches. Even a jab sounds like a ko punch. The strongest punch of a boxer is mostly a hook with full body motion. This from GGG when it lands is the end for any opponent.
The sound of impact of a punch that impressed me the most aside from GGG was valero, how such a small guy put so much power into 1 punch, unbelievable.

Re: Biggest Puncher by Division currently
I disagree that Eubank loads.. He uses speed and finesse.. He's a little cocky and maybe works too hard on the image.. He's new to 168 so he has to adjust.. Which he has a chance to do in the tournament.. Callum Smith also hits pretty good, but there's no real big bangers in the division right now.
Re: Biggest Puncher by Division currently
Abraham hits very hard, he is just very old and punches hard rarly.Kalan wrote:I disagree that Eubank loads.. He uses speed and finesse.. He's a little cocky and maybe works too hard on the image.. Benavidez has a good ko ratio.
Avni is strong, he got punching power.
Re: Biggest Puncher by Division currently
In Valero's last fight with DeMarco he had to protect a 3 inch cut on his forehead from an elbow... Blood was all over... He boxed carefully and still got the KO.Jip wrote:Why GGG is not only the hardest puncher in the mw division but p4p hardest puncher in boxing.

Could be Benavidez is the hardest puncher at 168 come to think of it... He's the dark horse of the tournament... He could win it.Jip wrote:Abraham hits very hard, he is just very old and punches hard rarly.Kalan wrote:I disagree that Eubank loads.. He uses speed and finesse..
