Thanks Loki, you said it all for me.Loki wrote:Great man and a Great Champion. I'm glad he's retired, nothing left to prove and he'd never have lost to Fury and AJ a few years back.
On aside note, all you fucktards who are bashing him, what have you achieved in the ring and given to the sport.
Show some dignity and respect.

Re: WLAD RETIRES
Smart decision by a great fighter, and the right moment to pass the torch. Must have been a big blow missing out on the Fury rematch but can now concentrate on enjoying the rewards that boxing has awarded him.
We can all look forward to AJ and Wilder to settle matters in another colossal matchup perhaps next year.

Re: WLAD RETIRES
Believe it or not, Joshua is probably breathing a sigh of relief....which says a lot about old Wlad.
Re: WLAD RETIRES
Wlad is the first boxer I started watching when I was young back in the 90s and I remained a diehard fan for every fight. It sucks to see him retire. I always hoped he would fight one more fight in Ukraine, but I guess it's not meant to be.
I hope he starts investing his time into K2 and growing it into a worldwide promotional powerhouse. I would think he has the ability to be a poster child similar to Oscar and Golden Boy, but with a lot more brains and much less cocaine.

An amazing career, an amazing champion. Total class all the way, his next boxing accomplishment will be the hall. He'll be successful in his life after boxing, but I'll still wish him luck.

Exactly this and even AJ doesn't seem to like a fight against Ortiz.Loki wrote:Jip wrote:Finaly he is gone.
Great - now we can look forward (apart from AJ) to all the HWs ducking each other.
At least Wlad had balls to fight. I only see AJ, Parker and Ortiz as HWs who really do want to fight competitive bouts.
Re: WLAD RETIRES
Smart choice. The rematch wasn't necessary, and it's highly unlikely it would've been as good as the 1st bout.

It was time. Though I didn't care for his style.
I always thought he was a credit to the sport. A true gentleman and good role model.
A definite top 20 all time heavyweight

Father Time and a Baby catches up with every sportsperson. I disagree, I think the second fight would be even or just as close.gilgamesh wrote:Smart choice. The rematch wasn't necessary, and it's highly unlikely it would've been as good as the 1st bout.
I just hope AJ cleans up. Not sure his fighting brain is as good as Klitschkos though, but he's young.

THE greatest heavyweight ever, except for his brother Vitali who was even better. They totally dominated the heavyweight division at a time when it was far bigger and stronger and international in scope that it had ever been before. No one has dominated a sport like they did since the great Babe Ruth ruled baseball in the 1920's and 30'.

I am happy for you. I like to make fools laugh. They have so little joy in their lives.

TinyAcres, you have to understand in x2x's world, Joe Louis, Hank Aaron, and Muhammad Ali have never existed. The why of that people are going to have to figure out by themselves.

Experience can definitely make your "fighting brain" or "Ring IQ" expand. He's still young, and will still develop a lot of experience. Hell his last fight with Wlad taught him A LOT I'm sure. It'll likely be a while before he's pushed that hard again, but that fight at least let him know what he's capable of.Loki wrote:Father Time and a Baby catches up with every sportsperson. The K brothers were undisputed, I guess it's easier with two brothers. I'm just not sure AJ has the brains to do it, perhaps it will come with age.
Wilder needs to fight a live opponent - it's becoming embarrassing really. Parker does seem willing but although game, not good enough.
Re: WLAD RETIRES
I think history will rate him very high amongst the ATG.tiny_acres wrote:A definite top 20 all time heavyweight
Wlad had 29 world heavyweight title fights (Louis had 27). Wlad won 25 of those fights.
Louis' reign as champion lasted 11 years 252 days,
Klitschko had 2 reigns as champion which, when combined, add up to a total of 12 years 2 days.
Of course all Louis' defences were linear and consecutive whereas Wlad's were not consecutive, and were for various belts. Still very impressive though.
Re: WLAD RETIRES
Echo this entirely , might have used a few old pros tricks in the ring , but out of it a really class act .Noxy wrote:I was always a fan of Wlad. A great fighter and classy bloke. He left on a high as well. Nice one Wlad!
HIs fight with AJ was one of the best heavyweight fights in many a year .

Anyway, for years Wlad rarely even lost a round, or even got his hair mussed. Unique and amazing phenominon, both brothers so totally dominant. Here you see fools typing their foolish little irrelevant and nonsensical insults. Means nothing.

I honestly find Lead to be in the top 20 of all time heavyweights. Probably around 15 in my estimation.
I just find it strange that anyone would have him first.
Not insulting you or Wladamir.
I do not rate him that high and no one else I've talked to rates them even close to the top. But opinions vary

Calm down there sparky. Both Klitschko brothers were Great fighters and I don't use the term Great loosely. They won dozens of fights convincingly. Wlad top 10 and Vit top 20 all time in the division. That's pretty damn good. You were the one calling people fools and the like.

What does "Lead" mean? Perhaps you were typing Wlad and autocorrect changed it. Anyway, OK then, we're all entitled to our opinions. If everyone agreed about everything there'd be nothing to talk about in places like this.
