Manny Pacquiao set to confirm rematch with Jeff Horn
Manny Pacquiao is on the verge of confirming a rematch with Jeff Horn in Australia with his promoter, Bob Arum, revealing Hollywood actress Nicole Kidman has urged him to stage the fight in Sydney.
"I don't think I'm going to have to go to Manila because I've been talking to Manny and his various representatives and Manny wants the rematch," Arum said.
"What's holding everything up is that there is martial law in the Philippines. We have to get some firm information as to when the Senate will be in recess."
"Once we get that information I am optimistic that in the next two days we can start making all of our plans to hold the fight in Australia," Arum said.

Interesting that Brisbane is still the front runner. Given that November 12 is the date being spruik by some media outlets it will be bloody hot in Brisbane. Has Manny's pulling power in the USA been so dented that a night time fight in Brisbane would be entertained? If a day fight i wouldve thought Etihad in Melbourne would be ideal.

It might be hot late in the year in Brisbane, but it can also rain like there is no tomorrow. For that reason I would have thought Etihad would be perfect too. It holds about 55,000, is surrounded by sports crazy Melbournians and of course it has a roof over it.

I suspect Sigmund Freud would have found your word association there somewhat interesting.Perseus wrote:"revealing Hollywood actress Nicole Kidman"Like a Boss wrote:Manny Pacquiao set to confirm rematch with Jeff Horn

I would love to see Horn get $5m for the rematch. But the reality is he will probably receive more like $2m. Perhaps a bit more.Grant wrote:Surely Horn will be on 5M plus for this fight

Bob Arum yesterday told Chris Mannix from Yahoo Sports that Manny Pacquiao's rematch with Jeff Horn is "pretty much there" and that they only have a few details left to sort.
The location not finalized but will reportedly be somewhere in Australia.
The WBO has been asked to put forward prospective judges' names so they can "be vetted by both sides."

Bob Arum is optimistic the rematch will take place at Suncorp using a temporary cover constructed over the outdoor arena that would cover the ring and the first 10 rows of spectators.
The Queensland government are meeting regarding the rematch over the weekend.

This thing has gone shaky again. Bob Arum now saying that if Manny Pacquiao wants the rematch postponed until 2018, Jeff Horn will fight somebody else in November in Brisbane.
If it isn't Manny in November you can bet it will be a Top Rank fighter. Opens up some interesting alternatives.

Vargas is a Top Rank fighter and is currently ranked in the WBO top 10. So he would be a very good chance should Pacquaio not be next.DA GOOSE wrote:Jesse Vargas.

Anthony was a pretty handy fighter in his day, but in my opinion those days are behind him. We all have to get older and realize that we can't match it with these young blokes. Mundine was at his best at 168 and Horn is 147. Mundine has had his day.
