In the UK I think it'll do reasonably well but nothing spectacular. Possibly less than a million. Reasons being:

The UK has no dog in the fight.

It's on in the middle of the night.

The promotion is limited due to the late TV deal.

There are more options today for online streaming which can often be used as a fallback for those who are interested but ultimately fairly indifferent. (I personally think this group is pretty sizeable.)

It's a Mayweather fight where Floyd is a huge favourite - not a traditional massive seller.

Personally, I can't see it doing more than Joshua Klitschko, for a combination of the above.

You say that but if I clear my cookies and search history and go to YouTube there are multiple videos served up on the front page for this event.

You're unaware of the massive number of plastic paddies over here?

Not unaware of them, just aware that in terms of domestic PPV sales they obviously aren't going to be at a level of, say, fans of someone like Hatton or Joshua.

Joshua Klitschko did over 1.5m buys in the UK and I honestly think this will seriously struggle to get near those numbers.

Categories are off. No way it sells less than 1.5m or more than 6m in the US. I think the hype is over the top, it won't break the MayPac record. 3 million.

I should do that, just to get rid of all the Peppa Pig and Fireman Sam recommendations. Effing kids, really mess up my suggestion algorithms.

I'm with this.

Also had a browse on Facebook and Twitter at responses. Now there are plenty of retards in the world who will pay for this but there were a fair few comments slating it so it may well bomb.

Wow some predicting less than 500k while others over 7 million! Shows how much thoughts are divided. Over the world there are a lot of UFC fans, many of whom no diddly squat about boxing. I would imagine those fans alone would take this event well over 500k. McGregor vs Diaz 2 holds the record for UFC PPV buys at 1.65 million.

I imagine the gap is due to some posters voting UK and others USA. I can't imagine anyone believes over 10% of the UK is buying the fight. The majority of buys won't come from Boxing or MMA fans.

Well i for one ,,WILL NOT BUY IT ,, but i think its going to be massive ,, i can't believe how popular this mma stuff is ,, in relation to getting numbers in the gym .

I've been doing some one on one training with a cage fighter, who owns his own gym , he wants to improve his hands so we do some private sessions in the morning , i find it great keeps me active and keeps me young , ..
Anyway point is , this gym he owns /runs membership is through the roof , he cannot accept anymore members ,, He has a few fighters coming up and taking part in competition , but 99% of the gym , just like to be there and think they work out hard , they wrestle each other and smell each others arses , , get up have a drink of the very expensive water , and then go kick the bag , go do some weights and watch the real fighters spar and get there 2 rnds on the pads , , he walks around telling them how good there doing , tells them remember when you spar joe its very light to no contact , cos we don't want you hurting Joe , he then tells Joe the same thing .

They all wear expensive Mui thai shorts , expensive singlets with the gyms name on them ,, after there training sesion , they put on ther expensive tap out t shirts and hoodies ,, , walk out with another expensive bottle of water , they go to the pub dressed like that , tell everyone there , training with bla bla and bla , and in a couple of weeks everyone of them will buy the shite fight , and most think Mcgregor is gonna win by ko

Lot of truth to this. I know loads of guys who suddenly claim to be 'cage fighters' or 'MMA fighters'. In truth, they've never been in a fight in their life, they do a bit of light grappling and wrestling in the gym, and that's it. An easy way to pretend to be a fighter without the hassle of getting punched in the face that comes with boxing.

Great reply.... I genuinely haven't seen a Tap Out t shirt in a real combat gym in years. You need to update your imaginary stories, leave the bit about you helping out with the pads out has well...

If this "fight" had have happened 10 years ago I'd have said there's a chance of 8-10 million but with illegal streaming now I'd say between 4-6.

Amazing amount of buys but streaming now is becoming the norm and cord-cutters across the UK & US is massive now.

Somewhere between 2 and 3 Million. I doubt there'll be too many more households than that that could or even WOULD pay $100 for this . I certainly wouldn't.
