He may do these things to annoy and distract his opponent for the first 4 rounds of the fight but I think he should just stick to his boxing and not leave himself open and get caught. In pro boxing one punch can change everything.

If Loma keeps on fighting midget mediocre fighters then he can keep playing games in there. One day he'll fight someone who actually shows up to the fight for once and I hope he keeps this comedy up and gets shined.

His 2 big wins came against 2 guys that didn't want to be in the ring. Walters performance was a career killer and ender.

Shouldn't you be happy that he's now "paying his dues" fighting mediocre fighters since you made such a big deal about him getting a title shot before "paying his dues" fighting mediocre fighters?

Certainly not overrated by people like you who picked Walters to beat him.

The Loma negativity has really picked up....people can't stand a fighter being hyped :oo

He is so overrated by boxers at 126 and 130 that they won't fight him.

He lost by SD in his second fight, which came against a tough as nails world champ. Funny to see people demand tougher matchmaking and less focus on losses, yet then cling to stuff like this and complain about fighters not putting in their dues against 20+ nobodies before they take on someone decent.

Loma was a great amateur and his pro resume is exceptionally strong for someone with 10 fights....hype is going to come with that.

Apparently fighting Gary Russell Jr and Nicholas Walters in your first 8 fights is not good enough. Interesting.

It's laughable. As much as people call for good fights and tougher matchmaking, what a lot of them really seem to want is the typical 20+ knockover jobs before the guy steps up. Otherwise the dues haven't been paid apparently!

Walters, Russell, Salido, Martinez, and Sosa in your first 9 fights in crazy. How many other fighters in recent years have faced tougher opposition in their first 9? How many people face someone like Salido in their second fight? People just love to moan...

I wouldn't recommend ANY fighter no matter how talented to play games and showboat in that Boxing ring. It's not a game, and it ain't play time. If they wanna go about it that way whatever.

Boxing has a way of making you pay for things like that. Ask Nate Campbell.

I just watched the fight and I can't say I like Lomachenko or the way he fights. He's in love with his accumulation, touching, feeling, combo punches, putting nothing on them for round after round. It wasn't until round 7 that he started loading up. The showboating was not funny or necessary. Of the lighter weights I love the styles of say M. Garcia and Crawford for comparison. Obviously very skilled and a very effective fighter but I cant lie, I find it (his style and antics) annoying.

Plus.......Kalan likes him, so thats probably the cherry on top.

Loma doesn't have power. Accumulation and frustrating his opponent is the only way to achieve stoppage for him, and he is doing that brilliantly.

His powers not special maybe..but he does have it. Just look, the round he let his hands go and actually puts his body into the punches was the round his corner stopped it. Obviously his game is near perfect in terms of winning rounds and not getting hit and I wouldn't recommend a change but as much as he frustrates his opponents, that type of style frustrates me.

His opponents go into near survival mode from Loma's swarming footwork alone. Walters crapped himself simply from the pressure given from all angles and quit, for example. The antics mostly seem like a ploy to get his opponent to fight back. Funny though, I didn't care for Loma's style for his first few fights since he was getting used to 12 rounds and seemed to really take off in rounds back then but nowadays his activity level is incredible to watch. Coming forward with an active defense and offense from all angles is the most robust form of boxing there is.

He's a machine no doubt....but I like my fighters a little more human, obviously its a personal thing. Do you see though, with his pressure, angles, workrate he is sacrificing some of his power. But like I said given he is so good/great at it, it is also so effective, if I was him I wouldn't change a thing, its near perfect. It's just my opinion that I find it a little frustrating because it looks like he is literally playing with opponents for rounds.

Yes. GRJR has pretty much said that himself as he's called his worst performance in his career and that next time he'll be ready. If you've ever seen him fight before then you would clearly see that GRJR had nothing that night. The spotlight blinded him.

You can't be serious? You call his last two fights as paying his dues? Marriaga is a Featherweight. What? He couldn't find anyone at 130 to fight? Did he not want to fight anyone his own size?

So no...now is not the time to "Pay your dues". it's too late for that now. Now i expect him to continue to take the toughest fights but it just looks like he'll let Arum do these boring showcase fights and disrespect his opponents inside the ring patting their heads and waving them in the corner. YAWN.

Marriaga landed some clean shots on Loma. Lucky for him, Marriaga doesn't have Garcia's power and fundamentals.

Russell threw like 80 punches a round against Loma and was clearly going for it. No shit a guy is probably going to say that his loss was his worst performance, and of course an idiotic poster will immediately buy that while getting after other fighters for making excuses.

Loma really didnt get hit much much of note against Marriaga. It's like people just saw that replay they showed of the right Marriaga landed in the second, and generalized that to the rest of the fight. Loma's defense was very good for someone who was on the front foot and clearly didnt respect what his opponent offered.Having a marked face doesnt mean your defense wasnt good either; sometimes all it takes is one jab to get someone bruising.

Omg Loma got hit a couple times!! This is boxing ffs  , and even technically sound, 'no mistakes' Mikey has been dropped and hurt before, including by someone who could hardly touch Loma.

Another Loma Blowboy who can't see how flawed his hero looked Saturday night. If that wasn't a career Flyweight landing those looping right hands then Loma has a rougher night. I guess that's what happens when you pluck a marginal contender from the weight class below to have a fight to show off your "matrix" skills and tennis ball hat skills. He gets hit by Crawford like that at a catchweight and it's a second loss in 11 fights that you'll have to come up with excuses for. Lame.
