Yes in the olden days there was a bit of a sabbatical around this time of year.

Seems like nowadays thankfully we can get our fix all year round .

The idea of a boxing season is moronic.

It should be all year round.

There's no point to a boxing season when many fighters fight twice a year. Why would they need August off?

It's different with a sport people play every week. But if a box wants August off, just sign up for a July or September fight date.

And if you do end up fighting in August, you'll get September and October off..

I'm really glad of the summer break 6 fights in 11 weeks all over the country, I think it's normally just August off now in this country

Just take the month off and let everyone else fight.

Last year we had a couple of good fights in early December. And then this year started in early Feb.
It's great. Usually I save minor fights to watch over Dec-Feb as that is the only quiet period now.

Boxing has a quiet period for pretty much 12 months every year.

It's a terrible sport where hardly anything happens and then it wants a month off as well.

Pathetic.
