Horn v Pacquiao II Set for November

Post by Ruthless-RKO »

Horn, now with a record that reads 17-0-1 with 11 wins coming by way of knockout, is willing to fight any of the big names of the division but it is looking exceedingly like his next fight will be a re-match with the Philippine fighter.

It is being intimated that the re-match could be held sometime in November with Australia once again the possible venue.

Pacquiao should have retired after the first Horn fight. It won't end well for Pacquiao in the rematch.

Fake arse contrived rivalries only boxing can make up to bilk the naïve public out of money. Here is what they said too Pac before the first fight, "lets put you in against a entertaining fighter with no power an average skills and lets do it on free TV as part of the hustle. Fight like shister, don't train hard, and just fight like an old man. He will probably get the decision and then we can set up a real PPV fight instead of taking our chances with a real killer." In the end we all make money..... Top Rank Boxing

This fight reminds me a little of a past his best Ali losing to Spinks, then winning the rematch. Pac will win the rematch. Horn should not be able to compete with a past his best Pac. Maybe Roach will have a game plan this time.

Your right. Even the Gold Coast sometimes gets to low 30's around then.
Both guys can handle the heat though. Horn could train in the 40° heat if he wanted without leaving Oz.
I love Pac and I don't want him to fight again. He should have followed Marquez in retirement.
I watched the first Horn fight and can't face seeing a shadow of the guy I have cheered on since 99 go down again.

This is obviously going to be a trilogy. Pac is going to get the decision and then there will be a third.

Oh no, another great action fight in a fantastic atmosphere with tons of fans? Yeah, let's all bitch about it. Manny's on the home stretch and still wants to step back in with this head butting maniac that battered him a cut him all over. Yeah, let's criticize him for yet another entertaining fight.

Who wouldn't want to see this rematch? Is it just because you'd want him to fight a brand name? This kid Horn is legit. He's enormous and tough. This is a great matchup and I think Manny deserves all the credit in the world for wanting to get back in with this guy at this point in his career. I think that it's an awesome way for Manny to go out. If he wins then there's no need for a third because Manny really won the first one.

There really isn't bud. Whether you like Manny or not, how can you not be impressed with the effort he put in against Horn in the first one? Do you remember Berto's last fight against Porter? Berto had no heart left...after a couple of headbutts he was looking for a way out, not a way to win. Manny could have done that same thing...he fought hard enough to get the win in my book and then signs up to fight him again? That's a tough little bastaard any way you slice it in my book. Fan or not.

Thank you.
People piss and moan about boring fighters then when they get a great fight they just find something else to cry about.
I would much rather watch a great fight with a controversial decision than a boring fight with universal recognition that the right guy got the win.

I don't want this fight for the same reasons I didn't want the AJ Wlad 2.
Manny isn't your average boxer. When he retires he can go onto great things and I would be gutted if he got hurt. Same for Wlad.
He got hit a lot in the first Horn fight. As a fan, how much more do you want him to take?
And as a fan, how much more does he have to prove?
He only let me down once in his whole career and I can live with that.
What I can't live with is seeing him past his best, getting hit and possibly hurt.

I hope Pacquiao beats the living hell out of Horn this time, then retires. Get Bayless in there to ref, and Horn won't get away with his dirty tactics. It would be better for Pac to retire off of a good performance than suffer a loss against someone like Crawford.

I think that Pac comes into this with a similar attitude as he had in JMM IV. Somebody is getting KTFO.

He's definitely gonna know that he can't take Horn lightly this time. He seemed to start slow the first time assuming that whenever he turns up the gears he'd overwhelm Horn, and he found out that wasn't the case. He'll probably coming out firing on all cylinders this time. Or at least as close as he can be to that by this age.

The problem for him is this. Horn is younger. Horn has more money now than he's ever had before, and therefore more resources to pay better sparring partners, and improve his game.

There's a good chance that the Horn that Pac faces this time will be significantly improved from the Horn he faced last time.

Wouldn't surprise me if Horn beat him legitimately this time.

Not sure how much there is to it, but Roach claimed that the cut or cuts affected Manny a lot. Even to the point he (Manny) wanted the doctor to check it out. Apparently he doesn't like blood. Of course, he was deathly afraid of needles for a while too. :oo

Put down NOV. 5th as the most likely date for Horn- Pacquiao 2 rematch in Melbourne Australia,
It is the Melbourne Cup Weekend (HorseRacing) and there will be tens of thousands of visitors to the city so I can see the promoters cashing in on that as the Melbourne cup is Run on the Tuesday, (7th) and main lead up race meeting on the preceding Saturday (4th).
So it makes sense to hold the bout on the Sunday the 5th. at Etihad Stadium (Indoor) Seats 56,000 plus another 20,000 on the playing arena...
