And if you would just trim your darn toenails, you would look great in those sandals.
There is no point in debating Connor's power when he isn't going to land.
Expect Roid Wifebeater Jr to dance around for 12, throwing the odd punch from distance and winning all 12 while the crowd boo's

Re: Mcgregors power
Conor can clearly crack, but 10oz gloves vs boxers who are much more skilled stand up to see punches coming and roll with the punch taking some out of it, is a different story.
If Floyd leaves his chin out and Conor lands I'd expect there to be a reaction, but I'm not sure it's power to completely clean him out.
Obviously this is hypothetical as Conor won't be landing on Floyd in reality

Others with power (actual boxers) have fought Floyd and barely landed anything flush with full power. I can't remember Canelo doing it more than 3-4 times in 12 rounds. Which says that Connor has to be a better boxer and have more power than Alverez to have even a chance. He isn't and dosent.

You clearly must be a suck ass Boxing trainer, and it's probably a safe bet that you haven't produced any Champions of any note because you obviously don't know Boxing.Arsenal49 wrote:I have been a boxing trainer for 20 years and J have to admire mcgregor power 1 punch and it's gamer over, in predicting it takes 3 rounds for mcgregor to figure him out then in the forth he finishes it. Re: Mcgregors power
There are a lot of unsuccessful boxers who theoretically have good power when they're hitting a heavy bag. However, when you fight someone like Mayweather or Klitschko, first thing that happens is that you realize you can't land at all if you load-up on your punches. Then, you start throwing awkward, off-balanced, quick punches just in hopes to land at all. Once you start making those sort of compromises, you no longer have the possibility of landing with power. I'm not trying to make some sort of conjecture that Mayweather is an invincible God. But McGregor will not be able to land as many power shots on Mayweather as Pacquiao, Cotto, and Alvarez did; because McGregor has significantly less boxing skill than they do.

Re: Mcgregors power
Is it possible that McGregor lands that perfect, one-in-a-million punch on Mayweather's chin and KOs him right then and there? ...
... absolutely ... but it's still a one-in-a-million shot ...
Is it possible that McGregor doesn't land a single punch? ... not one? ... not even close? ...
... no doubt! ...
Those are the two ends of the spectrum ...
... and I figure it'll be somewhere in between ... but very close to the latter ...

Re: Mcgregors power
He does have hugely overrated power. He's landed on smaller guys cleanly with small gloves and still had to beat them into submission rather than being able to knock them out cold. Despite landing almost perfect counters against Alvarez he couldn't knock him out cold.
If you give Pacquiao, Mosely, DLH, Canelo, Corrales probably even Gatti those kind of clean shots on Alverez he goes out. Even if he lands he won't be alike to finish, Mayweather opting for the 8pz gloves means he's confident in knocking out McGregor.

like the biggest fool on the planet if
you turn out right, but i am really
surprised a boxing trainer sees it like
that.
to me mcgregor has no chance whatsoever
to land anything. floyd is not only
clearly the most TME, the most elusive
ever, but mcgregor is not even a good
opponent. from every footage i have
seen he is telegraphing a lot when he
is doing pure boxing.
how much of a mismatch this is won't
show early on, since floyd will be passive
and conor can do his thing and look good
without being effective. but then it will
become obvious that they are not on a
level playing field, possibly resulting in
dirty tactics. but most likely in the end
an easy win for floyd, no one gets hurt,
everybody makes good money. in no
way this becomes a "good" boxing
match or a conor win.

Re: Mcgregors power
Power is generated by technique. Balance, sitting down on punches, turning them over, foot positioning, etc. McGregor may hit hard in a cage against an MMA fighter, who is square and more available to be hit, but in a ring his power may be very ordinary- or even unimpressive.
Re: Mcgregors power
I'm Yank Durham and I say McGregor's chances are zero to none.

Wearing heels, fishnet stockings and a pushup bra, Oscar still hits harder than McGregor.

Re: Mcgregors power
We'll see how his power turns out in the boxing ring
Different gloves, different stance to fight out of, he'll get picked apart even more if he boxes out of that wide stance
All this could affect his power

Can you imagine how painful it will be if McG actually does it? I mean, I certainly don't think he will, but my god it would be awful and it would make boxing look like shit.

Hearing people who think Conor beats Floyd in a boxing ring makes me weep for humanity. Some people are just too stupid for words.

If Donald Trump could become President of the United States ... anything is possible ... ANYTHING ...
That's what's got me worried ... I don't think I could take it ...
It'd be like getting hit with a left hook / right hand combo ...

I read recently he decided on 8oz grant gloves with McGregor able to wear whatever he wants. Whether that's or not I don't know.Badhusker wrote:Last I heard it was 10oz gloves.
