Cleverly v Badu Jack
Cleverly v Badu Jack
Seems Fast Car has done the deal, at least he is now guaranteed a ringside seat for the main event haha.

Tough fight for cleverly
Reckon jacks got it

Re: Cleverly v Badu Jack
As long as Bivol stands aside for the winner as he's now mandatory because they took so long to make the fight.Realistic wrote:Seems Fast Car has done the deal, at least he is now guaranteed a ringside seat for the main event haha.
18 days before event to make a World Title fight - Cleverly has held out well for money it would seem.
Re: Cleverly v Badu Jack
Good luck to Clev.
I think he can cause an upset here myself.

Re: Cleverly v Badu Jack
Both guys have a good work rate. Jack pretty underrated defensively. Has all the makings of a good scrap this one. If Cleverly is 100% mentally and physically for this one then I can see him just being edged out in a tight one. I'll go Jack by a couple of points but I'll have my fingers crossed for Clev.
PS I'm still not buying the PPV!!! Pish!

Mayweather fighter on a Mayweather promotion on Mayweather's big night - he better KO him as he's not winning on points.Stuarty30 wrote:Both guys have a good work rate. If he is I would favour Clev to win (maybe not on the scorecards but in most people's opinion.)Stuarty30 wrote:Both guys have a good work rate. Jack pretty underrated defensively. Re: Cleverly v Badu Jack
Not sure i agree with that. Thought Jack beat both Bute and Degale and he only got a draw. Both decisions were Mayweather shows. Has the fight 100% been signed?? Seems like hearn has lost interest in clev3132DW wrote:Mayweather fighter on a Mayweather promotion on Mayweather's big night - he better KO him as he's not winning on points.Stuarty30 wrote:Both guys have a good work rate. Has Clev been in camp or is it a short notice sacrificial lamb situation ?

I'm actually really surprised that such a fight has been made for the undercard.
This fight won't add to the PPV figures and is more expensive than putting on a lower level contest.
Lovely match though if both have been training.

Re: Cleverly v Badu Jack
Jack should pick him apart in entertaining fashion. More competitive than close. Wide decision, deserved.
Re: Cleverly v Badu Jack
Seems like this fight has been in the pipeline for ages.
On every thread I've had the same opinion. The better boxer and all rounder is jack. He's coming up in weight but he's strong. Clev will try to out work him and he busy, but the better boxer should be able to exploit clevs technical and ringcraft weaknesses.
116-113 type card to jack who never seems to get decisive cards

Braehmer had rematch - then chose not to activate it.
They had been negotiating with Jack for weeks - couldn't agree monies then they were ordered to fight Bivol.
They had now agreed terms but have to sort Bivol as well.

maybe a bit wider but that's my basic take on it. Jack's tighter defence will be the main factor IMOOssyrules wrote:Seems like this fight has been in the pipeline for ages.

Yes agree, sorry if I didn't make it clear but I meant jack by about 5 points but judges always seem to score him closer so give it by 3 as my guessCounter-puncher wrote:maybe a bit wider but that's my basic take on it. Re: Cleverly v Badu Jack
So,some mentioned further up about Jack being under-rated defensively. I think he's under-rated across the board but given Cleverly's reliance on his chin and lack of defence I expect Nack will pull a close win on points.
One hope we have is Jack is moving up, whilst Cleverly isn't a huge light heavyweight there's no way in hell he would be able to make 168 so we can assume he must be a bit bigger.

Cheers, I had no idea. I thought Clev was waiting for a rematch with Braehmer but then he popped up as somebody's trainer - might have been the guy who fought Paul Smith in Germany - so I assumed Clev was left holding his cock againkbackup408 wrote:Clev has known about this for a few months now palCaptainSpacerod wrote:Has Clev been in camp or is it a short notice sacrificial lamb situation ?

Re: Cleverly v Badu Jack
How the hell is a fight if this standard not signed 16 days before it is apparently happening.
If this falls through because Bivol won't step aside it is all their fault.
This should have been done weeks ago. End of June at the latest. Bivol was called as mandatory only a couple of weeks ago.

It's been planned for weeks - Clev held out for more money so he'll have been in camp.Naandrew wrote:How the hell is a fight if this standard not signed 16 days before it is apparently happening.

Most of the fights are the same on the undercard.
I'm sure Bivol will get £££ and 1st crack at winner.

Braehmer swayed over chucking it right up to date limit for the rematch.CaptainSpacerod wrote:Cheers, I had no idea.
