I didn't listen to it. But, he's got to make it sound like Conor has a chance.
In all reality, Floyd is going to completely school him.

He's selling PPV buys
Re: Now Floyd sounds like he knows he's going to lose
In every single fight he has had Floyd has sounded extremely confident, he told multiple time world champions to their face they didn't ace a chance. He told McGregor to his face he doesn't stand a chance. Now(and always since this fight became a possibility) in the media he makes Conor sound better than anyone he's ever fought before.
I don't know but maybe, just maybe Floyd knows the fights a joke, he knows that anyone with a tiny bit of boxing knowledge knows the fights a joke a Conor doesn't stand a snowballs chance in hell. So maybe he talks up Conor's chances in the media to sell the fight.
He's 40 years old and undefeated, he didn't need to and probably wasn't planning on coming back but then this fight started becoming realistic and he realised if he played it like Conor had a chance and hoodwinked casuals into believing he thinks he could lose then he can make a few hundred million without taking any risk.

As I explained to my nephew who is a big UFC fan and knows nothing of boxing, there's are two things Floyd is dead set against: one is taking risks and the other is entertaining fans. Neither are happening here.

Dana White: Floyd, we know you owe $25 million. So we call the shots now.
Floyd: I'm not agreeing to throw the fight.
Dana: Okay bye.
(two months later. After Floyd and Haymon realize they have no other options to erase the giant IRS debt.)
Floyd: Okay.
Dana: Deal.

Re: Now Floyd sounds like he knows he's going to lose
The really amazing thing is people genuinely seem to be taken in by this.
I would not be surprised if Mayweather, McGregor, White et al are in a room together right now deciding what the next 'press leak' will be in order to a) raise interest and b) make people believe McGregor has a chance.
It is all a magic trick that makes £20 PPV money disappear from your wallet and end up in theirs.

It is more magical in the US.. it makes $100 disappear.cpfc_fan wrote: It is all a magic trick that makes £20 PPV money disappear from your wallet and end up in theirs.
Re: Now Floyd sounds like he knows he's going to lose
He needs to raise betting odds on Connor so more people bet and more people buy PPVs.
TO EVERYONE!!!: UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCE SHOULD YOU BUY THIS PPV!!!
If you really want to see the fight, go to a bar that has no cover charge for watching or just stream it.
Don't let these two a$$holes get rich from this scam!!!

Not just winning this fight, not the Canelo rematch, not advertisements, not movie appearances.

It's like an election. Spin put on everything to get the most buys. Try and make it seem like a real challenge when it isn't.
No way on this earth is Roid Wifebeater Jr giving up his precious "0".

Re: Now Floyd sounds like he knows he's going to lose
Floyd has too much honor and integrity to throw a fight for $? You are saying it's 100% impossible for Floyd to throw this fight to pay off the IRS $25,000,000?
