Which current British fighter are you most interested in?
A new Boxrec topic on which UK fighter would you be most likely to click on and investigate?
I ask because for example, topics on the likes of David Price garner loads more traffic than more decorated pro fighters such as Selby, McDonnell, Flanagan and Burns. Oh, and I'm considering Tyson as 'current'.
Maybe it's a weight thing.

Out of that list it would be Fury even though I can't see him him boxing again. Not to bothered about any others mentioned apart from Degale. I'm really interested in Asinia Byfield at the moment he boxed the ears of sammy McNess the other month and this week he's been out at the Mayweather gym sparring Gervonta Davis. This boy looks a real talent

Generally, the more established fighters become, the less interest I have in them. Uncertainty is a big attraction for me, and at this point I'm probably most interested in the up and comers who are yet to clearly show what the highest level they can win at is...guys like Yarde, Dubois, and Taylor come to mind.
I am still interested in Price, because I am biased towards power punchers, and his power and vulnerability lead to stoppages and drama. I thought the Hammer fight was very fun and there's a sense with him that something big could happen any moment.

Fury current ??deadpan wrote:DSW wrote:Khan current?
Been out of the ring 7 months longer than Khan, has no license to fight and announced his retirement.
Re: Which current British fighter are you most interested in?
Anthony Joshua definitely
I also quite enjoy watching Sam Eggington, I don't expect he'll ever be the top guy in his weight class, but I'll keep watching him as long as he's at it because he's fun to watch.
I'll be interested to see the development of guys like Daniel Dubois as well.

Fury....although it has sadly turned into a bad soap opera rather than a boxing career.
And I want to see Groves and De Gale go again and with their world titles on the line.

I hope Fury comes back boxing has been boring without the big man about.

Callum Smith or Eubank Jr. would whip 'em both, I think. Though I'd like to see those fights to be sure.Bodyshot3 wrote:Fury....although it has sadly turned into a bad soap opera rather than a boxing career.

Groves, Eubank and Smith are all in the Super Middleweight Tourney at 168 so it could get fun.

For pure entertainment purposes it's AJ then Eubank. I like AJ as a person too, from what I've seen, so it'd be more crushing to see him lose than Eubank.

After AJ, I'm interested to see how yafai fits in with the stacked 115 division. He's a smooth boxer.

Yeah , the Joshua / Klitschko title fight was a feckin snoozefestRexob wrote:I hope Fury comes back boxing has been boring without the big man about.

Seems to have gone really quiet after his last fight, which he took a lot of punishment himself .samdance wrote:I voted other...Quigg

Always thought he would go on to bigger things than he has

4 of my favourites in the list, Joshua, haye, groves, Brook
Joshua - has the world at his feet. If his next 5 fights are big knockouts, he could run short of opponents quick
Haye - loved the hayemaker but his time is done
Groves - loved him on the way up, loved him vs Froch, loved him hanging in there to win it 4th time. Hope he wins the WBSS to keep his title
Brook - love Kell Brook but his career is at crucial point now. A defeat at 154 next could see his time at the top done

At lower level...
Gavin - frustrating as hell missing weight etc but love this guys skills
Skeete - prospect, skilful, big, committed, has a chance
Gamal Yafai - can he follow Kal? Looks good to me
Tyrone Nurse - skilful always good value. Needs to go onto the next step
Josh Taylor - looked great vs Davies
Andrew Selby - box of tricks. Rate him better than his brother but it's tough at the low weights

Me too. One more fight against a relentless come forward opponent (Mexican Japanese) that he can't KO and see how he does under constant pressure then onto the world stage
Re: Which current British fighter are you most interested in?
I would like to have voted Tyson AND Joshua, but if you have to pick one - of course it's AJ.
A British Heavy with a 100% KO record - what's not to like ?
British boxing is buzzing ATM, but it HAS to be AJ.
Plus, the other thread has made want to add Yarde - IF he ticks the boxes and gets the experience he could be fighting Barrera/Kova/Ward/Beterbiev in 2 years time

Re: Which current British fighter are you most interested in?
Favourite is DeGale the prestige of the HW division means I lent slightly towards Joshua.

This by a mile.ThereByTheGrace wrote:Josh taylor
He was brilliant against Davies, he looked liked the finished product at times I was hugely impressed.
Re: Which current British fighter are you most interested in?
Would probably be Carl Frampton but I'm unsure of what's happening regarding Carl at the moment! I'm a big fan of Josh Taylor as well though! x
Re: Which current British fighter are you most interested in?
Josh Taylor, Kieran Smith and Willie Hutchison.
Re: Which current British fighter are you most interested in?
Like AJ now. Gets a bad rep but Eubank, Fury, Brook and Khan (who I was a fan of previously) are all off my radar now! Was a fan of all them guys but they're just a piss take now man!
