It will be absolute bollocks.
Re: Two boxers not allowed to box because they're black?
There are many sensitive and not so bright people out there who see racism in everything, and are seemingly unable to realize that unfortunate things can happen to racial minorities without those things being the products of bigoted racial views. I'd have to hear more about this before poo pooing the cops in this case....
May well be that Browne has poor comprehension and inaccurately interpreted their words.

Has Big Denzil been on to his solicitor again?mickey1975 wrote:Two white fighters off now.

That's about the only chance he has surely ?
If this is true it's disgusting and the legal case should (rightly) be a straightforward win.

The police been doing racial profiling on music events for years https://www.theguardian.com/culture/200 ... rage-music
My gf works for Manchester libraries and the police advised that they cancel a "Hip Hop Shakespeare" event by Akala (have you seen him? Loves the bard, def not a gangster!) due to the expected race and age demographic (although they couldn't put it quite like that, they said "potential gang issues" which is police shorthand for a lot of young black people in one place.)
First time I've heard of this in boxing but doesn't surprise me.

They are banning 2 fighters from flighting due the potential for trouble. The fact that both are black is coincidental. Unless the police have said "you no fight, you black" which is of course ludicrous and would not happen.
Not a fan of people using the race card.

If there was a shred of truth in this Diane Abbott and Sadiq Khan would have been over it like a rash.

There's been nothing mentioned in any media anywhere so can only assume it is all bollox.BigDoofus wrote:If there was a shred of truth in this Diane Abbott and Sadiq Khan would have been over it like a rash.
Looks like Mickey spreading fake news.
Hopefully the police are investifating Big Denzil for a hate crime, spreading fake racist rumours.

What are you on about? I know the people involved, so does Dalcumy, it's fact that police told the promoter two black boxers couldn't box. I'll let you lot carry on reporting what you see on IFLTV if you want, forget what is actually happening.bripez wrote:There's been nothing mentioned in any media anywhere so can only assume it is all bollox.BigDoofus wrote:If there was a shred of truth in this Diane Abbott and Sadiq Khan would have been over it like a rash.

Was it a fact that they were told that they could not box "because they're black" - as the title of this thread suggests?
Classic fake news - an element of truth yet portraying a completely different situation.
Also, are the Police investigating Big Denzil for spreading false and malicious rumours that may cause unrest between racial groups?

Re: Two boxers not allowed to box because they're black?
Again, Denzil Snr is annoyed as his son has never had anything to do with trouble. Most of his fans are white....
Re: Two boxers not allowed to box because they're black?
To be fair to the police they can get quite rowdy when in large groups and also when certain music gets played......i'll get me coat......
Re: Two boxers not allowed to box because they're black?
Mickey, I have no axe to grind, but let's position this in two ways. Did the police say:
1. A cannot fight B, as it could cause potential crowd issues (it so happens A and B are black); or
2. The black fighters A and B cannot fight as it could cause crowd problems.
There is quite a gap between the two.

100% it was A, in this day and age any copper who said that would be out the door in an instance and it would be all over the press. It's a classic example of the race card being played.Loynesy wrote:Mickey, I have no axe to grind, but let's position this in two ways. Did the police say:
