The wife of boxer Amir Khan has said her husband was misled into accusing her of having an affair by fake screenshots, one week on from their public online "split".

Faryal Makhdoom has said the whole thing was a complete "misunderstanding," blaming a text sent to her husband for causing Amir's angry reaction where he accused her of an affair with boxer Anthony Joshua.

She posted online this morning: "I've been quiet for some time... because I myself didn't know what's going on.


"Everything that's going on is just not right and a complete misunderstanding.

Social media for you. How do you get out of something when millions have viewed it. At least the story is 'acceptable' they could have said 'Amir was abducted by aliens and his brain was all scrambled'

You should never wash your dirty laundry in public, we've all said things on Facebook or Twitter etc and regretted it the following day, but people will never learn their lesson.

Whatever amir's shortcomings here, I think his missus is being shown in her true colours. She initially wanted to lie to the media a week or two back with lies about how their social media accounts has been hacked - which would have been a blatant lie. She's now claiming the mess is all a "misunderstanding". Doesn't take much imagination to work out where the fake AJ stuff came from either. Amir is better off without this piece of work but she'll probably take him to the cleaners in the process.

I like Khan and I do feel a bit sorry for him.
He had a lot of haters because of his ethnicity.
He had a lot of people jealous of him and put too much trust in his family and latterly his wife.
It's one thing getting done over by promoters but to get taken advantage of by family and friends is a real shame.
He really needs some good people around him now and needs to hand them his phone.

Khan needs to grow up now. He actually seemed more mature when he was a 17 year old coming onto the scene than he is now. What i dont get is the comments about the wife being a golddigger etc. Hes cheated how many times now. Is she expected just to smile and carry on...its actually cringeworthy that khan goes crying about it on twitter...add to the fact hes cheated himself so many times. The problem with khan is hes acting like a little boy in a mans world like a lot of people nowadays.

Thats pretty much regarding his life inside and outside the ring. Its been going on for a while now....

Fighting soft punching guys hiding off for a jackpot fight.
Running away from the brook fight.
Obsessing then crying over the mayweather fight.
Leaving trainers blaming them for a defeat when he was clearly told in the corner between rounds against garcia not to do what he ended up doing that lead to the knock down.
Cheating on his wife then publicly running about crying when the shoes on the other foot
The list is endless.

Outside the ring. Again the list is endless...

Twitter spats with saj.
Crying over his team leaving him.
Trying to cherrypick soft punching opponents.
Running away from brook fight till brook looked damaged.
Etc etc.

Pretty much all of these things could be fixed...by manning the fu×k up. Hes a 30 year old man acting like a teenager.

Khans career has become a car crash, and his life outside boxing is too. I know many boxers would chop there hand off to have khans career, but with his abilities he could have done even better. Many bad decisions in and out of boxing.

And his mrs, yes she's a sort, but she is clearly as bad when it comes to decision making and airing dirty laundry. Sad state of affairs.
