Next fight for Loma? Garcia, Rigo, Berchelt, Corrales, Davis or Salido II?

Post by apollo creed »

If you ask me I want to see Loma vs Garcia at 135 lbs. It's by far the biggest fight Loma can have! Gervonta Davis would be a nice fight too for Loma to make some noise! Floyd ain't gonna agree with this fight anyway.

For being such a highly rated fighter, Loma has had it pretty easy with competition. I would like to say that the NW was his best foe, but that on that night, the Jamaican showed his true colors as a genuine quitter and coward.

Ideally it would be Garcia. Realistically, I'd be happy with Berchelt.

Teddy Atlas should be barred from calling any future Loma fight's because I think his BIASED commentary will turn fan's in drove's away from Loma the way he comes across and his one-way pathetic view's and ass licking that he does its totally wrong for people to listen to his bullsh.t talk he didn't once give the opponent one favourable comment even when he did land a punch on Loma he is such a joke these day's to listen too and he use to talk about how fighter's put their live's on the line yesterday it must have been Loma the only one putting his life on the line because Atlas barely acknowledged his opponent........Good work Teddy some of your best :-P :-P :-P :-P :-P :-P :-P :-P :-P

Arum has mentioned Rigo, Berchelt, and Salido for a December fight. I think Davis has already said that Loma isnt a big enough draw.

He is so damn good at super featherweight, that i want to see him their in future. Johnny or davis would be great opponent, just heavy handed opponents who can pose some danger. After cleaning out the division he can go up fight easter, mikey or linares.

Most likely Berchelt. I don't really see the Rigo fight ever happening and Salido won't do a rematch until he gets desperate. I get the feeling that he "likes this feeling" of having that "W" over Loma and isn't in a hurry to have it avenged.

..in one of Loma's interviews he said that Salido II fight is still relevant but just for one more year, after that Loma's team won't be interested any more..which I think is fair enough...

I would actually like him to fight Rigondeaux at 130 lbs.

Should absolutely be Berchelt but probably won't be because boxing promoters are garbage.

If it's anyone but Berchelt, Corrales, or Salido, I'm not interested.

Rigo would be more of a mismatch than people think. Lomachenko is younger, bigger, hits harder, and is every bit as skilled.

It's kind of awkward, because some of Lomachenko's best competition right now is super young guys who have no reason to rush into a defeat. Berchelt is 25, Corrales is 26, and Davis is 22. All of them have extraordinary potential and if they have ambitions to become true cash cows, they would be wise to avoid a fight with Lomachenko until they are at least 29 and capable of competing on fair terms when they reach their primes.

Rigondeaux is almost old enough to retire and still hasn't used-up his opportunity for a cash-out fight. But given that Lomachenko is two divisions north of him, I am not sure that he would want such unfair terms. He might be better off seeking out a fight against a top featherweight.

I could see Salido being willing to make the rematch. Salido has 13 defeats and doesn't give the slightest f*ck about catching a 14th loss. He has fought a zillion elite opponents throughout his career, and I have every confidence that he wants to fight more of them. He's got to be thinking that he has an outside chance of being a hall of famer if he can continue sustaining a high profile and appearing in big fights.

I would think that Mikey Garcia would be happy to fight Lomachenko. To have that sort of two-division size advantage against an elite fighter, it would be an amazing opportunity. Even if Garcia thought Lomachenko was better p4p, this would be the definition of a calculated risk.

I could also see Jhonny Gonzalez seeking a fight against Lomachenko. He is another fighter who I seriously doubt cares about risking defeat. Plus, at age 35 with a decent win streak, he is probably angling for one last big payday.

If Lomachenko is interested in testing the waters at lightweight without fighting the very top guy, he might look at Raymundo Beltran. Raymundo is 36 with 7 defeats, and he's on a great win streak. He would probably be overjoyed to receive an opportunity against the smaller Lomachenko

Lomachenko v Garcia would be an appetizing fight at 135 if Vasyl can hold weight and box relatively the same way he does.
Hype wise they may not make big coin but they'd make noise in the rankings.

I wish JMM was on his prime right now, he would knock Lomachenko out cold. If Loma fights Garcia he will get KOed.
