If there were a massive gulf between the #1 fighter and everyone else in a division, he would be the guy who wins the thread. If all of the top 12 lightweights except for Robert Easter suddenly retired, he would be the most divisionally dominant fighter.

I'd rate Loma ahead of Berchelt

IMO Walters, Martinez, and Sosa is better than Muira and Vargas, and Loma was also more dominant. Incidentally, I wouldnt have minded seeing Martinez, Sosa, Miura, and Vargas matched around with each other.

No, it's the ultimate point. Competition is everything in boxing and what matters. You sound like a casual here.

The premise of the thread is merely asking who is the most dominant fighter in his division. It's not saying anything about the division being weak or strong. If you are going to argue one fighter is the best in the world, like Sadman did, you have to look at competition.

If there were a massive gulf between the #1 fighter and everyone else in a division, he would be the guy who wins the thread. If all of the top 12 lightweights except for Robert Easter suddenly retired, he would be the most divisionally dominant fighter.

If that's how you interpret dominant, good for you. I and several other real boxing fans always look at competition. If Lomachenko is dominating better competition, he wins over Robert Easter any day of the week.

Actually, I would say Usyk looking human against Michael Hunter would go against him. He did dominate Glowacki, though, who was a top 5 CW.

Usyk might have this; although, Lomachenko dominated GRJ who goes on to become the arguable #1 FW and Walters who beat Sosa and could've been considered a top 5 SFW due to that win that aged really well.

The list is Crawford. Yamanaka was a good shout. GGG is the only other one that belongs.

Yamanaka has been down a few times and had a close first fight with Moreno. While I think he should be considered #1 at 118, I think there is less distance between him and the top 'other' guys than there is between Craw and the other LWWs.

In terms of having actually dominated a division though, rather than looking capable of it. Crawford has only been champion of his division since beating Postol last year, and has only defended twice. Yamanaka, by my reckoning, has been bantamweight champ for something like four years and is coming up on what must be about his ninth defense of it.

Rigondeaux is also a better choice than most of the guys in the poll, but for much of his career post-Donaire Carl Frampton was fighting bigger fights than Rigo was, and he is now practically outranked by Magdaleno here on Boxrec.

Clearly Crawford imo. Especially if/when he becomes undisputed champion. Has had more fights at 140 than Loma at 130, so that goes in his favour. Loma is obviously #1 in his division but there are still interesting fights at the weight with Berchelt, Davis etc. Once Bud beats Indongo he's all but wiped that division out.

Ward hasn't been at 175 long enough. AJ and Usyk haven't faced enough top competition yet.

Golovkin followed by Yamanaka, in terms of a sustained period of dominance, would be my vote.
