Im going to agree with you. This will be the biggest ppv of all time imo. You have 2 type of fans who will want this, boxing and mma. mma is effing big and they will be hammering this event like no other. Boxing hardcore fans who buy any ppv and those who just want to view the circus will also hammer this event . Then you will have the curious who will buy it just because of the talk at work and the pr.
Btw £19.50 has been decided for the uk.
Fans of neither boxing or mma will make up the majority of these buys.
I find it crazy that people who aren't normally fans of Boxing or Combat sports in general can be talked into spending $100 on a sport they normally don't care about.
I've never spent anywhere near that amount of money on something that doesn't interest me. Unless it was a gift for someone else or something, but that's different.
If i was in America I would maybe go to a bar to watch the undercard which is good. But $100 for a PPV is steep no matter who is fighting. So my guess was lower than May/Pac
Even Lomachenko, an all time great amateur, stepped up to Salido in his 2nd pro fight and got beat. The jump was too high - even for one of the best fighters of this generation IMO.
McGregor will come in and try and move to his plan, he's mentioned his footwork. He'll get disheartened by the continuous counter-punching and movement, and basically being made to look like a fool. Fight will slow down and count down to 12 rounds - 10 of which will be totally forgettable.
This will do a lot of numbers for PPV. The MMA fans will be hammering shit out of it because they are desperate to be seen as the superior combat sport.
