Frampton split from McGuigan??

Post by handsofstone »

Rumours on twitter that its to be announced that Frampton has left Barry/Cyclone, no mention of Shane from what I seen, I first heard these rumours not long after the Gutierrez fight was scrapped, I took it to be nonsense and typical conspiracy theories that was going around the same time as the fight got pulled, I did think someone from the camp would've spoke up to deny it though, especially Carl himself who usually pretty prolific on twitter, even if was just to take the piss out of the rumour

Its saying now that Cyclone have refused to comment, I hope its bollocks, they seem like a close knit team and for Frampton to leave after his 1st loss would leave a bad taste for some?

If its shite then do feel free to take the piss :TU:

If Gutierrez was the best opponent that they could get then he should leave.

Absolutely pathetic.

Frampton mentioned after the Gutierrez call off that he had a bad camp and he wasn't really himself, maybe motivation??

He expected to fight at Windsor Park mid summer in front of 20,000 of his own - they couldn't financially make it happen and he ends up in front of 5500 fighting Gutierrez.

Harsh reality kicked in he wasn't ever going to get the big fights with Cyclone minus TV monies.

They didn't have money for anyone better - that's the harsh reality with no Tv contract.

Frampton will need to go with Matchroom for the monies if he wants the really big fights (Like Quigg for £££)

Wouldn't necessarily be the worst thing for Frampton. It was very disappointing how Shane didn't appear to have any plan B in the Santa Cruz rematch; perhaps a change of trainer is what Frampton needs.

The thing is Billy unless your privy to know whats going on behind the scenes, you can never tell whats around the corner, you know yourself with Ricky that sometimes fighters feel they need a change if their lacking inspiration or whatever, i'd have never have thought Frampton would leave the McGuigan's but if Carl's involved in Cyclone(or was) then their could be other matters in the equation that would make carrying on with Shane impossible

I remember Hearn and Quigg being vocal about the money that Frampton makes

When few years ago I asked whether Frampton co owned Cyclone, someone here told me that it is only McGuigans. I thought then that this was unfair, because Cyclone was all Frampton then. Now the company got much stronger and is not entirely feeding off Carl. They dont absolutely need him anymore. Its conceivable they started taking liberties with him. Cracks started to appear. After all Barry is a psycho and not an easy guy to work with. Perhaps Carl wanted his well deserved share of the company, but was refused.

Frampton should have never left Eddie. Unless he was getting his own promotion. This is like UK abandoning EU trade and replacing it with India. It was a silly move. Barry did exactly what was done to him, took advantage of a young man.

Hate to say it about the smug bugger but leaving matchroom is not good, Frampton, Degale and Selby would be on ppv money by now. Always felt like Barry felt back in the limelight with Frampton, seems too strong a bond for them to split. Something must've gone on tho. Fast car mentioned it too in his last vid.

Yeah Quigg said to him I'll still earn more than you even with you getting paid more once McGuigans get their cut.

Is Selby's deal not up with Al ? Noticed Poxon (ITV) tweeting a lot about Selby.

LSC 3 - Carl got 1m (US) for last fight as Champ - so he'd likely get less this time around.

Bearing in mind Carl's huge in NI - the fact BBC NI are now running with no denials of the story would suggest something is certainly not right in the relationship. They wouldn't be running with that story without something leaking to press somewhere.

I've heard that it is over: "too many McGuigans on the payroll". Only a matter of time before split is announced. I only hope whatever has gone on resolves quickly and Carl gets back I the ring soon.

He's taken 2 lads to world titles and both have paid great tribute to his work in doing so.

So why has he resigned as a director?
These rumours have been around since then. Why has there not been any statements denying them?
