What do dou guys think of this guy or his future? I like his style a lot he has nice victories over Commey and Herring, IMO he deserved draw with Easter, but Easter was champ and was at home town so i am okay with that. I didnt see fight with Barthelemy. Good luck Denis in future fights

There was hardly anything between him and Easter/Barthelemy, yet the dude was nearly shut out on the cards in both fights. Very solid fighter, but I dont think hell be able to move beyond good contender who falls short status if he has the keep facing top guys who are well supported.

He was a top 5 lightweight right before Barthelemy beat him in 2015. I think his close fights with Barthelemy, Easter, Commey, and Vazquez show that he's perpetually going to be about #6-7 in his division.

I thought Vasquez beat him the clearest, but at the same time, that version of Shafikov wasn't as good as the one after that loss. He came back stronger than ever after his losses. I thought he was done after that close loss to Barthelemy. They tried to feed him to that up-and-comer, Herring, but he beat the holy hell out of him to everyone's surprise.

He's a hell of a fighter to beat though. He's only lost close fights, and he's fought everyone in the division. One of those throw-back fighters. Dude isn't afraid to fight anyone.
