Of course opinions are often swayed based on who one likes more, and we can see that some people try to maintain that theyre being fair and impartial when they obviously arent. It's especially clear when someone deems pretty much the same factors (e.g. age/being past best and lack of clout against a bigger draw) to be laughable excuses when people mention them for GGG-Canelo, yet fair play and worth immediately mentioning for this fight.

Has there ever been a pro fight between multiple time Olympic gold medalists?

I don't see this as a winnable fight for Rigo. He employs a defensive style partly in my opinion due to a suspect chin. He may get seriously exposed.

If anyone has the ability to do that it's Loma but does he have the power. The weight difference may be telling.

I can see Rigo being very hard to hit and being edged out on points

This is laughable, Loma is great but he isn't and will never be better than Mayweather. You live in you fairytale world, but Loma isn't all that.
..may I enquire why not? have you got that crystal ball we haven't? :o ...may I assume it's because he won't have that hometown advantage..or is that because of that loss and he's got a huge blemish on his record? :OhYes:

Because he's simple not as good as Floyd. Skill wise, speed wise, defensively, power, ring smarts. I can't think of one quality I'd give Lomachenko a edge over Floyd on other than work rate, but you put this current version of Lomachenko in the ring with any version of Floyd past 20 years old, Floyd beats him.

How will you rate Loma if he beats Rigo? You didnt seem to be be any more positive about him after you said Walters would beat him and he proved you wrong.

So how will you rate Loma if he proves you wrong again and beats Rigo? Was it that hard of a question?

I think some people do overrate him, but you seem so rattled by their opinions that you're going just as far the other way, and are unwilling to change your view of him even when he wins fights you picked him to lose (like 'Walters in 5'). You're no better than the ones responsible for the excessive hype, and you are just deeming him to be worse than he is instead of better than he is.

Lomachenko's got some serious hype about him. But don't count on Rigondeaux to beat him. They are of similar abilities and Lomachenko has a 2-division advantage in size. Should be similar to Mayweather - Marquez; little dude never stood a chance.

With Rigo having to jump two weight classes to finally get the fight, it tells me he wasn't the one putting up roadblocks....it was Arum. Both sides have blamed the other for it not happening. If it was at 126 and 2-3 years ago I would have picked Rigo. If the fight does actually happen, which I am hopeful of but still doubt, Loma should win and possibly stop Rigo. He won't get much credit for it though.

It won't happen though. IMO Rigo is a big hype job based off his win over Donaire. You take that away then what is he?

As far as his level of opponents, he really is the level of Gamboa.

Not really.

Salido 2, Berchelt, Francisco Vargas...all would be more challenging fights than Rigo is gonna be.

The name Rigondeaux is gonna carry more weigh to people though due to his P4P status and unbeaten record. The other 3 would be harder fights for Loma I think.

I still don't think it'll be Rigo as the opponent.
I could be wrong but tba is normally a stiff. I doubt it will be any major opponent
