I had this different idea of Spence prior to the Brook fight, I thought he was slick, more defensively sound...hes not. Nowhere near as slick as a Crawford in terms of headmovent, foot speed. I'd like to see this fight although Crawford prob needs to start pumping those weight evander Holyfield/Evan Fields style.

Good points. I don't think we have seen the best of Spence yet. He made Broner cry and quit in sparring, and made Floyd not so enthused about even sparring him. Brook was a quality opponent though, beat Porter on his home turf, and by far a better opponent than Crawford has met yet. Its hard to imagine someone out boxing Crawford, even Spence, and that makes the match-up even more intriguing. Right now Crawford is prime, and Spence has yet to get there. It will be two years before they fight, if they do. I would put Crawford in the top five at welter when he moves up, but he has to prove himself there to get higher.

I agree. But size & power and if your opponent can take a punch or not are crucial points.

Take paulie for example. Good footwork, good technique. He was athletic and had good stamina & speed. Imagine him with a strong body and a powerful punch, he d be on mosley level. Dumb example i know, but you getmy point. I cant see crawford matching spence or thurmans physic and power. I am not saying he gonne be weak like timmy at 147, but he wont handle the top 2 guys. Even brook and porter will pose him hzge problems.
Crawford doesn't necessarily need power to beat them. Power and physicality isn't everything. Crawford is skilled enough to beat those guys without his power. It is a mistake to believe all you need is power to beat someone like Crawford.
Crawford got skills, so do keith n errol. Crawford has good footwork, so do k n e. I doubt crawford has 147 elite power, i doubt he can handle those skilled punchers. K n e got elite power who even 154 boxer would respect and both can handle crawfords power.

I dont hate on crawford he is a top 2 p4p in the world and one the 10 best lw ever. But at 147 he will have crushing defeats.
They can handle his power but they can't beat him. Just like Garcia could handle Thurman's power but Thurman's a better boxer. Crawford is a trickier boxer than both Thurman and Spence. If elite power with skill was all it takes to beat a great fighter, Floyd would've lost many fights.

Bery hard puncher. He just wasmore technical moved more banged less concentrated more on stamina and winning rounds. But he is in beastmode and lands one the oponent goes down. One of the 10 hardest puncher we have in boxing right now.

We ll see who wins. I say thurman.

That's the difference between Crawford and Thurman. Crawford can move, win rounds, and still hurt opponents.

Thurman improved his footwork. Also he does a more complex strategy nowadays rather than justgo wild for ko...

last thing he wants/needs to do is start pumping weights, he can knock em out with his skills and he will fill out anyway as he gets older

Crawford is able to employ the same complex strategy and still get a KO.

Chavez Jr. is the best example, he was pretty powerful at 160.

Ok fair enough in terms of his skill, hes very skilled. But no weights is still the school of thought? Those WW are huge. And some of their styles make for gruelling, wrestling type matches, such as a Shawn Porter or Spence. I cant see how, deadlifts or that cross fit training could hurt. But most, I assume, he could school from the outside.
