Paddy Power pays out on Mayweather to beat McGregor three days before fight!

"Bookmaker Paddy Power pays out on Floyd Mayweather to beat Conor McGregor three days before fight"

Bookmaker Paddy Power has paid out early on Floyd Mayweather to beat Conor McGregor this weekend, with punters receiving £250,000 in total.

McGregor has made the switch from MMA to boxing to take on the unbeaten Mayweather - and Irish bookie Paddy is so confident his compatriot won't record victory - he's already paid out on 'Money'.

“We’re spinning the roulette wheel a bit here – as getting it wrong would see a serious Mac Attack on my bank balance," he said.

“But, when you’re backing Mayweather, you’ve basically covered the whole board anyway.

“Patriotism aside, we are paying out early on a Mayweather victory – because we checked, and only one of them is a boxer.”

Thoughts?

Makes sense, good free publicity, he's obviously going to win any way.

Could someone with a gambling problem explain this one to me? What's the advantage of Paddy Power doing this? So Paddy Power pays off the Floyd winning bets before the fight, how does this help them? If CM wins, that money can't be recouped so it's just throwing it out the window. I'm not a big gambler so i'm sure i don't understand this like i should.

Free publicly and it attracts new customers.

Instead of paying £50K for a half page advert to publicise the Paddy Power brand per media outlet. They get dozens of media sources publishing the same story free of charge, since such a practice is highly-unusual.

Also, hardly any punters placed bets on Mayweather during the early stages of the promotion, since the returns for bets placed around that time would have only yielded a 16% ROI.

^^ I have a gambling problem :OhYes:

Also it makes people like me more likely to use paddy power in the future over other sites due to the fact they pull the odd trick like this.

Making them bigger profits in the long run as 98% of gamblers lose

Are they paying out yet on Canelo over Golovkin?

That's another sure thing.
