If you claim you're better, but refuse to fight that person, while at the same time you do fight against guys who have absolutely no chance, then you're a pussy. Both Wilder, as well as Daffy perfectly fit that bill. And even after he got demolished, by someone that was actually a B-option compared to Briggs, and then you still claim you're better and want to fight AJ, the rank 1 of the competition, then you're just an annoying prick. A pussy that doesn't dare to accept his own terms, things like that. It's just silly.
Look, I fully admit I'm not the best heavyweight boxer in the world, that's why I wouldn't fight AJ for example. If you're planning to come to Amsterdam any time soon, pay me a price that's worth showing up and are not clearly way out of my league then I'll give it a shot, or fully admit I'm not good enough. Like a real men should do.
Fvck you're boring. Real men don't call someone who's stepped in the ring with Wlad a pussy. You're obsessed
For that pile of money? I think about 90% of people, especially back at the time, would do it, I would in every case.

For me, it's actually the sense that he's not a fighter, but someone blessed with athleticism and no other big-money options. If he could go back in time and trade his career for Daley Thompson's (just for an example), along with the latter's popularity and respect, I'm pretty sure he would.

He was never the rock-faced hardman who won our favour by walking through shots, and I can better relate to the psychology of someone who isn't scared but doesn't like getting hurt, versus the likes of Frazier and Duran. Those two are obviously all-timers and well ahead of Haye (though he'd have been much closer had he remained at cruiser), but neither carried the mood of reluctance towards risk that Haye does. Calzaghe had a bit of the same: he wasn't a natural fighter, just pushed really hard until it became his life.

Getting such boxers into the fights that we want to see is notoriously hard, but I love watching them when they happen. I don't have to like those in question to admire some of their mental qualities.

I disagree entirely. Haye is a born fighter as is calzaghe. Hayes early career saw him triumph in hard fights. At heavyweight however i think he always knew he coukdnt afford to get tagged.

Nicely put. I never understood when people refer to someone like Audley as having no 'heart'. In my book it takes an awful lot of courage for someone who isnt a natural fighter to climb.in the ring, compared to someone like duran who probably enjoyed fighting.

That is my prediction ;-)
Can't see it as that fight would command 5m plus in purses so there wouldn't be enough budget to add that - they would have that as a stand alone show in Man/O2.

Kal Yafai/Sho Ishida is Main AJ support as it stands.
Without brown nosing Realistic he has had another prediction correct. If this does happen he will be known as Boxrec's Mystic Meg.
I will go as far as saying the 11th :TU:

Put your money where your mouth is then? You sucking off Bellew? is that what it is? You're just sour that your man could barely beat a fighter 3 years retired with one leg... it's laughable

Seriously, did David promise he'd call you after a date and you never heard from him again?
Your bitterness is the likes I've never seen on a forum

Go on then, give us some examples...
In either the 2nd or 3rd round of his fight with Erik Morales, Jesus Chavez dislocated his shoulder in his right arm. He wound up going the distance against one of the best fighters of his time who he was the underdog against ANYWAY even prior to the injury, and actually gave Morales a pretty difficult night in spite of being a one armed man in a Boxing match.
Whose bravest due to injury etc is quite pointless conversation, but being a leg down is more debilitating than being an arm down

As for the actual op

If Haye can turn up fit and injury free then Bellew should give him the rematch

He championed all thru the pr of the first fight he'd give him the rematch

He knows that the first fight has big questions due to injury

My gut feeling Bellew doesn't want it

Agreed.

Although when I originally made the comment, I wasn't just talking about injuries sustained during a fight, just bravery in general (as OP didn't specifically refer to injuries). The most obvious example that comes to mind is the Thriller in Manilla - 2 ATGs hammering each other nearly to death in scorching heat. I'd argue Ali & Frazier showed a good deal more courage that day than David Haye showed against Tony fvcking Bellew.

In the ring, absolutely. My point is that neither man's the sort to crave violence for the sake of it — the catharsis of the young Tyson, they just want respect and the end justifies the means. Is how I see it. Whereas Duran would've fought you in a hilltop shed for insulting his chickens or summat.

To be fair, I'd say Duran is the outlier here.

I think it's more down to the money - Haye still thinks he's the draw and wants more. Bellew won't accept a lot less like he did in the 1st fight.

Bellew is more then willing to give him the rematch, it's Daffy Duck who wants all kind of unfair advantage Bellew never had. Daffy is just a silly sad guy, who doesn't dare to accept any fair fight. He just made a mistake, thinking he could handle this light something weight. And some dumb people claimed it to be a good excuse to avoid Shannon Briggs, a fight he would also have lost badly by KO in the first round.

NOT my fould, I can't do much about his odd and silly behaviour, having a big mouth when he smells money and running away scared when he faces an opponent.
