It's unbelievable how the sheep fall for the hype!
The only was for something to go amiss, as Mimmy said, if there is something corrupt going on.
But for me PBF doesn't need to do anything corrupt, already a rich man, all he has to do is turn up to collect his 100 million, he won't even need to break into a sweat.
I know its unbelievable ! People on here talking about mcgregors chin or punch when they have only ever seen him in MMA, boxing is a different kettle of fish folks and MMA skills are not transferable to the boxing ring or visa versa, its a blatant mismatch, perhaps one of the biggest mismatches ever ! so yes 6-1 is a fecking dream price for an all time great to get rid of a novice debutant within 4 rounds :yay:
It might be that Floyd just finds him so easy to hit, and such an easy target that he just goes for it, but it's not really his nature.

McGregor should be at least 20/1 being a debutant against a legend. I think it also goes to show the bookies are either scared or playing the odds game and making the public believe he is better than a 20/1 shot.

Boxing odds are rarely truly reflective of the likely outcome.

Yeh I think the current odds just shows they've had a load of bets on McGregor. Probably UFC fans who've bought into the hype. McGregor will be embarassed on the night - the only real intrigue is what FLoyd does - I do think 6/1 is a great price for rounds 1-4, as Floyd isn't gona struggle to hit him clean and often.

Odds are generally altered when a lot of money comes in on one of the protagonists. I assume its a way of mitigating risk.

Odds are given according to what money is been placed on each outcome.

So the correct answer is:

Is there any way you could make a bet that covers multiple rounds? Like say a TKO over rounds 7-12 or something? I'd be going with one of the later rounds instead of one of the early ones.

I'm going for mayweather to win 120-108 & mcgregor to land less than 30 punches.

25/1 seems ridiculous for that in my opinion

What price would the Irish Rugby Union team be in a football match against the West Germany football team as that is the price McGregor should be.

McGregor to land a head kick 25/1 if it's going to be a farce might be ok
McGregor to land under 20 punches and his corner to chuck in the towel 20/1

After Leicester winning the Premier League at 500/1 the bookies wont take chances, especially with the following Mc Gregor has.

Its also a 2 horse race. Youre never going to get much more than 25-1 in a 2 horse race.

Given there are 12 rounds, 16-1 is not really that high.

I fancy an outside bet on mayweather by DQ but it's only 8/1.

Agreed. McGregor has a good chin, Mayweather's not the biggest puncher, there's a size difference.

Where has McGregor shown he has a good chin?
Throughout his MMA career.

Not unless Conor just pulls a "No Mas" or something really early in the fight, and pisses a lot of people off real bad.
Not that unlikely for me; he certainly punked out against Diaz, and that was in a sport he was familiar in.

McGregor is very good as an 'on top' guy, but he doesn't seem to have much stomach when the going turns against him.
It sounds like you haven't watched McGregor's fights. For example, in the second Diaz fight it looked like McGregor was absolutely spent, but he managed to come back and win it. He has heart.

McGregor has been used to taking punches from men proficient in kicking and wrestling, it's not the same.
Also of course you can't set your feet to punch when you are being kicked and pushed.

Regardless of how it's caused, it's still blunt force against a human skull. Many people are knocked out in MMA fights. McGregor has taken big shots and not been knocked out. We're not talking about how he will react to shots; simply that he has taken big shots before and his chin held up.

Let's also not pretend that Mayweather is a big puncher at 154 lbs and 40 years old.

Mayweather is not a big puncher for an elite light middle, for McGregor he will seem like King Kong.
Look at McGregor's sparring, he is still using MMA fighters and not all of them are men, and of course the Omagh youth amateur champ Tiernan Bradley!
This may give him some confidence but it is no preparation. He can train as much as he wants in the swimming pool but it won't help him in the boxing ring.

well said pal. some folk just aren't getting it are they ? Its like some kind of mass hypnosis or something ! The last thing I expected was to come on a boxing forum and see people even remotely giving McGregor a chance, its lunacy :brick:
