Guillermo Rigondeaux
Guillermo Rigondeaux
Many fans agree that Rigo will be the underdog against Lomachenko. I agree. But what about other fighters? IMO Rigondeaux can beat everyone in 126 and 130, except Lomachenko (even with Lomachenko it will be interresing fight). What do you think?
Re: Guillermo Rigondeaux
I'd take Gary Russell or Leo Santa Cruz to beat him at 126. A fight between him and Frampton is 50/50 in my view.Cent0089 wrote:Many fans agree that Rigo will be the underdog against Lomachenko. Im not sure about Russell but I'd be real confident rigo would beat Santa Cruz. His come forward style doesn't bode well vs rigo imogilgamesh wrote:I'd take Gary Russell or Leo Santa Cruz to beat him at 126. Frampton would be underdog too
Re: Guillermo Rigondeaux
Most people overestimate Rigo based on his big win over Donaire 5 years ago who himself was overrated.Ossyrules wrote:Im not sure about Russell but I'd be real confident rigo would beat Santa Cruz. Re: Guillermo Rigondeaux
I dont know man, how Frampton or Santa Cruz will deal with Rigos sharp, fast, accurate and especially strong conterpunches. Garry Russell is very fast it would be an interresting match.
Re: Guillermo Rigondeaux
The answer is simple. Rigo is older now. He ain't as sharp or as fast as he used to be. Leo would beat him by outworking him. Nothing fancy. He'd just outwork him.
Re: Guillermo Rigondeaux
Santa Cruz could out work him, but my take is he's a fair bit less skillful in the technical arts. His foot work is worse, his technique is worse, his ring generalship is worse. I'd back rigo to time him a lot. He'd be eating a lot of counters.gilgamesh wrote:The answer is simple. Rigo is older now. He ain't as sharp or as fast as he used to be. Santa Cruz is pretty good, but elite level guy can out skill him
Re: Guillermo Rigondeaux
I think Tyson Cave beats him at 122, 126, or 130.
I think Rigo will struggle against anyone who:
1. Has world classs amateur experience.
2. Is not solely a banger.
He is there for the taking. Easy win for Lomo.

Re: Guillermo Rigondeaux
Tyson Cave getting pushed to the backburner after getting robbed against Oscar Escandon while seeing Escandon get big opportunities since is a crying shame. Especially since I didn't even think the fight between Cave and Escandon even remotely close.Gregk wrote:I think Tyson Cave beats him at 122, 126, or 130.

I had it a complete shutout for Cave.

I think Rigondeaux wins but I wouldn't be surprised if he loses since he is getting older.

I think he's also better as Lomachenko, but I expect him to age fast from now.

Re: Guillermo Rigondeaux
Since HBO destroyed his career, Rigo's been generally inactive.
If done correctly, it could prolong your career, while keeping your near prime.
If this fight gets done for December, it would be the first time since 2014 Rigo fought twice in a calendar year.
