Re: Nathan Cleverly vs. Badou Jack - August 26th 2017
hard sell for me that cleverly wins this one. Been a long time since he's ko'd anybody at the top level and cant see him getting the decision. Might outwork him but jack will land the better punches. Cleverly's pretty durable so I reckon Jack on points.
Mayweather Pts
Jack Pts
Tabiti any method
£20 Treble pays £187. Reckon that's the bet for this card. with maybe a saver on mayweather any method (incl DQ) at 10/3.

Re: Nathan Cleverly vs. Badou Jack - August 26th 2017
I think Cleverly wins this convincingly in the end, there might be a few tight early rounds but I think Nathan's natural size and punch volume will be too much for Jack in the end, ive written off Jack a good few times and he's always proved me wrong so maybe I should know better but Cleverly's too big IMO and will stop Jack late on

Completely disagree.handsofstone wrote:I think Cleverly wins this convincingly in the end, there might be a few tight early rounds but I think Nathan's natural size and punch volume will be too much for Jack in the end, ive written off Jack a good few times and he's always proved me wrong so maybe I should know better but Cleverly's too big IMO and will stop Jack late on
Jack for me is one of the most underrated fighters in the sport. He should be lineal super middleweight champion as well.
Time and time again Jack gets written off. The whole forum including myself thought Groves was going to run through him.
I think Cleverly pre Kovalev may have stood a chance but I think Jack is going to stop him around 9-10.
Bivol is mandated to fight the winner straight away as he stood aside for the fight to happen.

He will take to the weight like it was natural, bring a bit more power and stamina. He was hard pressed to make weight, this time it will be easy and he will not have to dehydrate as much.
You haven't got money on Clev have you?
Risky...

hope your right, ive got jack to win in 9/10th along with Davis on points and floyd 1-6, £5 on pays £1900Naandrew wrote:Completely disagree.handsofstone wrote:I think Cleverly wins this convincingly in the end, there might be a few tight early rounds but I think Nathan's natural size and punch volume will be too much for Jack in the end, ive written off Jack a good few times and he's always proved me wrong so maybe I should know better but Cleverly's too big IMO and will stop Jack late on

Jack is a very very good fighter. Getting starched in one early in his career meant he was always underrated. I was guilty of doing that myself. One of my biggest betting loses was the groves fight.
Cleverly looks slow and predictable. Jack should dominate the fight.

Re: Nathan Cleverly vs. Badou Jack - August 26th 2017
It wouldn't shock me if Jack won but I just think Cleverly has the engine to grind him down and the size to get him out of there, Groves, DeGale and Bute all have questionable stamina and Dirrell was lazy as eff in their fight, Cleverly for all his flaws is relentless with his pressure and punch output, I'm not sure Jack will handle itNaandrew wrote:Completely disagree.handsofstone wrote:I think Cleverly wins this convincingly in the end, there might be a few tight early rounds but I think Nathan's natural size and punch volume will be too much for Jack in the end, ive written off Jack a good few times and he's always proved me wrong so maybe I should know better but Cleverly's too big IMO and will stop Jack late on

Must admit that terrible early ko has also made me underrate Jack in the past, and I certainly thought Groves and DeGale would have too much for him. Regardless, I'm also picking Jack for this one.TheLeprechaun wrote:Jack is a very very good fighter. Getting starched in one early in his career meant he was always underrated. Cleverly loves Las Vegas he says. Living at the New York, New York hotel right in the strip and enjoying doing his runs along the strip while dodging in and out between the tourists.
Do I think he'll win ? Are you having a laugh!
As soon as the pressure starts , around the fifth round, Cleverley bails out, and hits the casinos.

When has Cleverly every bailed out when the pressure has started? He's limited, granted, but he's tough as nails and will take his licksdalcumly wrote:Cleverly loves Las Vegas he says. Agreed, he fought toe to toe with Fonfara with a broken nose, should've been pulled out earlier in the Kovalev fight and fought 12 rounds in the Bellew rematch when he clearly had an injured arm/handMarlo Stanfield wrote:dalcumly wrote:Cleverly loves Las Vegas he says. Edit- I'm agreeing with Marlo on this one, I'm no sure why his post is missing

Re: Nathan Cleverly vs. Badou Jack - August 26th 2017
i don't think its a lack of heart that's does for cleverly - more lack of ambition and self belief to fully impress the best of himself in a fight. He can make a very good living out of boxing just doing enough to stay relevant. he is a world champion, but I don't think you can say he grabbed his opportunity with both hands- kind of got handed too him a little. He'll hang with Jack, but not do enough to beat him.
To me Bellew 2 showed where he is at. The move up to cruiserweight was clearly fabricated to build that fight. He never should have moved up but accepted he needed to as that was the money fight, and that he was probably going to lose to a lesser fighter by doing so. Kovalev knocked the ambition to be the best out of him. But the Bellew, fonfara and braehmer fights showed he does have heart and toughness.

Jack's first fight at the weight, he wants a title, which champ are you going to choose to fight? Ward, Kovalev, Stevenson, Cleverley..........

Bellew 2 was a shameful performance.
Re: Nathan Cleverly vs. Badou Jack - August 26th 2017
I don't suggest for a minute that Cleverley lacks heart. He lacks motivation. I don't believe he's committed to winning this fight. I believe he's in Las Vegas for a last pay day and then he's off.
And when you've got that mental attitude and the pressure builds something just 'goes' and the body gives up.
We'll see of course but I predict a 5/6/7 round stoppage.

Re: Nathan Cleverly vs. Badou Jack - August 26th 2017
The favourite is Jack, but it should not be assumed the victory by the swedish boxer. Cleverly is a world class fighter with good combinations punches, solid chin and stamina.

Paying guys what they're worth instead of matching the other promoter is gonna see him still in business when other promoters have gone bankrupt.Glass Joe wrote:purses for fight
