Alfredo (Mongol) Ortiz, 218, TKO'd Jorge (Martillo) Flores, 195, eight to win the Mexiavan Heavyweight Title.
Joaquin (Petrolero) Macias, 159, TKO'd Othon Guzman, also 159, in one to retain his Mexican Middleweight Crown.
Julio Cruz-"Turco" Lyva, TKO 6, welters
Emilio Sola-Hugo Partida, W 4, bantams

Query; What date?

PS. The expression in my recent posts here wasn't normal. My system is screaming for tobacco in an effort to stop smoking. No offenses ment. DS.

The date is June 21, 1980
Mongol-Martillo was for the MX. vacant heavyweight tile.

The 1980, june, 21 was for the vacant Mexican hwgt title, right,
BUT
Jorge Flores TKO'd (the fighting doctor) Ismael Ruiz in that one.
Source, The Ring, oct 1980, page 67.
My query was for another card, reported as above, in The Ring, Feb., 1981, page 57.
Mongol Ortiz TKO'd Jorge Flores, in eight. (Dethroned Flores from the title)
Plus a Mexican middleweight championship.

PS. Ortiz then retained the title against JL Gonzalez, Villahermosa, MX, 1980-12-15. (source; The Ring, march 1981, page 61). DS.

Either the 1983 or 1985 Ring record Books had a pretty good list of Mexican titles -- has anyone checked that?
