WHO WINS? Conor McGregor vs. Amir Khan
Re: WHO WINS? Conor McGregor vs. Amir Khan
And Conor McGregor has never won a professional boxing match...
Re: WHO WINS? Conor McGregor vs. Amir Khan
We're talking about Conor McGregor here, not a skilled Boxer. It doesn't take "believing" in Khan to know he'd beat Conor. All it takes is common sense.craigjenkins05 wrote:Still shocked at people's belief in Khan hasn't won a word title fight in god knows how many years and has never beaten a top welterweight
Hell I'll give you another one. I hate Adrien Broner. Wouldn't pick him to beat hardly any noteworthy contender at 147 and up.
He'd clown Conor McGregor.

I'm not saying for a minute he would lose to mcgregor but mcgregor is a big guy and the blind faith in Khan who's never had a good win at 147lb I have 0 faith ATM considering his inactivity and lack of recent word level winsgilgamesh wrote:We're talking about Conor McGregor here, not a skilled Boxer. I don't have blind faith in Khan. I wouldn't pick him to beat several boxers. I'd pick him to beat Conor with absolute confidence. Conor ain't a boxer, and last night, he didn't look like a big puncher either.craigjenkins05 wrote:I'm not saying for a minute he would lose to mcgregor but mcgregor is a big guy and the blind faith in Khan who's never had a good win at 147lb I have 0 faith ATM considering his inactivity and lack of recent word level winsgilgamesh wrote:We're talking about Conor McGregor here, not a skilled Boxer. Simply weighing more than somebody ain't gonna win you a fight when they do every single thing better than you.

I got another one for you.
Victor "It don't take sh*t to quit" Ortiz would kick Conor's ass.

Re: WHO WINS? Conor McGregor vs. Amir Khan
If it's down to boxing accomplishments, Khan easily trumps McGregor.
Seriously, who is the best striker McG has beaten? I've been told Nate Diaz, and isn't he a grappler first and foremost? At 147 Khan pretty much shutout Devin Alexander, which is a hell of a lot more meaningful when it comes to boxing than outstriking grapplers in MMA is.
Keep in mind that, while Khan has a poor chin, he's only once been stopped by someone who wasn't an elite pro boxer, and he certainly came a long way since that fight.

We're talking about 147's here mcgregor looks like he killed himself to make 154 I can't see him beating a British top ten light middleweight
Re: WHO WINS? Conor McGregor vs. Amir Khan
He couldn't beat a Top 10 ranked Lightweight in a Boxing match. Even if he was allowed to come into the ring with the 20 pound weight advantage.craigjenkins05 wrote:crusader wrote:If it's down to boxing accomplishments, Khan easily trumps McGregor.

Doubt it. I wouldn't care to see any of those fights anyway.wesshaw1985 wrote:does McGregor vs. Ortiz/Margarito/Mosley do big numbers?gilgamesh wrote:I got another one for you.

People still voting for McGregor after last night? His power isn't what is was built up to be and his gas tank is empty after 5 rounds. He doesn't beat a single boxer anywhere near world level.

Re: WHO WINS? Conor McGregor vs. Amir Khan
Whilst Khan obviously should win, his chin is so bad that I would never feel confident picking him. Garcia telegraphed his swinging hooks from miles away and Khan couldn't avoid them, so wouldn't be at all surprised if McGregor managed to nail him.
Re: WHO WINS? Conor McGregor vs. Amir Khan
Khan would take him about in 4/5 rounds
Re: WHO WINS? Conor McGregor vs. Amir Khan
I dont think the size difference would mean much. Conor was almost exclusively throwing clumsy, pushed arm punches , he had very little stamina, and IMO just wont be able to cut it against any welterweight who is at least a fringe-contender.
It's obviously not impossible for him to beat Khan, but I highly doubt he would.

Re: WHO WINS? Conor McGregor vs. Amir Khan
It was farce and Mayweather is years past his best and still took it easy. This is a man who hasn't stopped a professional boxer in years and he still stopped Mcgregor. How anyone can still be conned into thinking that Mcgregor would beat any world, European or even British rated welterweight or light middleweight is beyond me.
Everyone has the blueprint now. The myth only worked the first time. Boxing needs to build up new young fighters of its own rather than cash grabs involving mma fighters which only damages boxing in the long run to the detriment of hard working boxing professionals.
Mayweather has definitely disgraced the sport now. He hasn't had respect for boxing for a while now, probably since he fought Cotto. And mcgregor has disrespected boxing and everyone in it. Good riddance to both of them.

One punch and glass chin is hitting the canvas.

Not if McGregor's throwing the punch he isn't. McGregor can't punch. There are amateurs at my gym who hit harder than him.Manc_Red wrote:One punch and glass chin is hitting the canvas.

The amount of time it took far better boxers to catch his chin, McGregor will have gassed.CaptainSpacerod wrote:Not if McGregor's throwing the punch he isn't. McGregor can't punch. There are amateurs at my gym who hit harder than him.Manc_Red wrote:One punch and glass chin is hitting the canvas.

We're not talking about Khan against Keith Thurman; we're talking about Khan against someone who isn't a boxer.craigjenkins05 wrote:Still shocked at people's belief in Khan hasn't won a word title fight in god knows how many years and has never beaten a top welterweight
If Khan can't beat Conor McGregor without breaking sweat, he needs to seek alternative employment.

Then please delete them as they pop up - for the love of God!!mimmy123 wrote:It was obvious that the fight last night was a one off. I doubt very much you will see McGregor in a boxing ring again.
We now need to move on and avoid these pointless fantasy McGregor fights.
Re: WHO WINS? Conor McGregor vs. Amir Khan
McGregors power is awful compared to top boxers. He'd need to land that 1 in 100 shot, and before he gasses.
Re: WHO WINS? Conor McGregor vs. Amir Khan
Khan in 3 rounds. McGregor hasn't even got a punchers chance.
Re: WHO WINS? Conor McGregor vs. Amir Khan
Khan should switch to MMA.
