So you guys think Conor fight team is good then?

Kavanagh is his BJJ coach btw and not his striking coach.

Conor could use a better team, I agree with that.

It's the little pearls sprinkled in between that made me shake my head.

I think if Conor McGregor cured cancer you would say it was bound to happen at some point. You're as honest as you are biased. So out of curiosity, how many times have you picked him to lose?

X3. Sorry p4p1.

I think McGregor has a very good team. Look at the achievements. I wouldn't focus on the Mayweather fight as there's no plan to continue as a boxer. McGregor is an MMA fighter.

Just remind me what Kavanaghs record in the UFC is?

He didn't teach Gunnar BJJ but he is Conor's BJJ coach and didn't teach him how to strike. Neither have a plan B once plan A fails. Lobov is not good at all. So guys call me a hater if you like but remind me what exactly makes SBG Ireland good? Other than McGregor who relies on a great sense of timing and distance not developed by his current coach and is a one trick pony. If not for God given power he wouldn't be successful at all due to not being well rounded even if you're just considering striking.

Compare SBG(and its fighters and how well rounded they are) to Nova Uniao, BTT, ATT, AKA, Blackhouse, Jackson/Winklejon, Serras gym, Tristar, Cesar Gracie's, Renzo Gracie's, Kings MMA/any gym that Cordeiro has run, Team Alpha Male, Alliance MMA.

Or is SBG more like the Glendale Fight Club? Jesus Robert Whittaker who trains out of a small gym in Australia is more well rounded than anybody at SBG.

What about Mayweather Senior's achievements as a trainer? Does that make him also no good? It's not just about the qualities of the trainer, but just as importantly about the relationship to/with the fighter.

Yes, McGregor is the only champion from his team, but that's not the point. The point is that him and his team got him to where he is, and I don't believe changing would positively impact his performances. It would do the opposite.

Guys that Mayweather Sr train generally add stuff to their game. Not to mention his son is one of the most well rounded boxers there is. Yes he's very defensive but his inside game is excellent as is his outside and mid range game. The same can't be said for anyone Kavanagh trains.

Anyway.

Ferguson vs. Lee will be interesting.
DJ to take the record for title defences.
Werdum and Lewis will be fun to watch.
Other than that nothing that jumps out and grabs you. Can't see this card doing big numbers on PPV.
I will be recording and watching tomorrow...

Very much a casual. Not seen either of the main event guys fight. Noticed it's for the interim lightweight title so the winner is probably favourite to fight MCGregor if he returns to UFC.

Ferguson is a blood and guts warrior, Lee is a sick athlete. Ordinarily that would be the case but I'd be very surprised if either got McGregor before the third Diaz fight. I'm guessing they book that and the winner here vs khabib.

Yep, regardless of who wins I don't see Conor having to face off against the winner in a hurry. Diaz 3 is surely most likely which is a disappointment for the top end of another weight class that Conor is stalling.

But didn't Khabib mess the weight up against Ferguson earlier this year and not fought since.

I'd like a third Diaz Mcgregor fight though. Not sure of Diazs situation with UFC

I'll be surprised to see Khabib at 155 again, honestly.

McG vs Nate III is going to happen. Going to make HUGE money too!

I don't get how Lee got a title shot, even an interim one. Chiesa and Trinaldo are solid fighters but far from the elite of the division.

McGregor's superstar status is seriously harming the division.

He did, but he's also a beast and frankly I don't think the UFC would want Conor to fight both of them. I'm all about McGregor/Diaz 3 too. Nate will make the most money against McGregor for the company and McGregor can win, so they're relationship is good enough.

Over 2 million buys. They at least need to put tonight's winner on the undercard.
