Mayweathers performance has made MMA fans think the best of stand up MMA can hang with elite boxers. Just imagine what a 40 year old Duran would have done to that gobby clown. There is no way Mcgregor would've went past round 1 against an old ass angry Duran with a point to prove. Floyd won well in the end and he obviously stuck to a winning game plan but he also put the impression out there that MMA can hang with boxing in a boxing ring which needs to be rectified pronto. I know Floyd was way past prime fighting a bigger dude but I believed his outstanding technical skills would've still been enough to shine over the MMA awkwardness of the pro boxing inexperienced Mcgregor. It was actually embarrassing from Floyd at times. No way Duran would've allowed an MMA gobshite to give him work. He would've went out there and completely and utterly destroyed Mcgregor from the start. And not just for his personal pride, but for the fans of boxing.

66 year old Duran needs to come out of retirement to sort this mess out.

Duran would dispatch him faster....because Duran was not always a "safety first" fighter. Doesn't mean that Floyd carried him....that's just Floyd's way. He warmed up, assessed, took control and decisively won rounds 5-10 and ended it.

Come to think of it, I'm not sure Floyd would last 10 rounds against a 40 year old Duran.

Much smaller than Conor. Duran at 43 or 44 would handle McGregor. His one fight at 40 was probably the worst of his career.
