Conor would fight at middleweight cause he is way to big for 147 and at 154 there is no money to make. Aside from 147 160 is the money division in boxing.
160 is super strong, i would even go so farand say the division never looked stronger ever. He would have 0 chance against lemieaux, jacobs, ggg, canelo and charlo, who would all wreck him badly inside 1-4 rds.
What conor can do against a top 50 160 boxer. I dont know. But money wise it would make no sense.
There has definitely been deeper Middleweight divisions in the past. The very best guys of the current era are solid, but there have been eras when the guys that were below the Top 10 could've whipped the likes of Lemieux and Jacobs. Particularly in Carlos Monzon's era, Hagler's era or the 1950's.
Monzons era was bad. He had few good opponents. Most opponents were average.
Haglers era was okay. Duran was old. Hearns obviously phenomenal. Leonard too. But aside from them most hagler opponents were c level.
GGG-one if the 3 best middleweight ever. Would beat hagler. Certainly punches harder.
Jacobs is tough. The version who fought ggg would beat barkley and hearns at 160. I am not saying jacibs a better than hearns. Hearns us better, but hearns was prime at 147-154, at 160 he would lose to the bigger jacobs, although close.
Canelo is great.
Charlo is young, but he is en route to become an atg. Power, athletiscm, strength, he got it all.
Trust me middleweight division never looked better.
