Im sick to death of seeing william hill,ladbrokes and betway,sky arnt happy with fleecing us fans with normal monthly subs then ppv but they want to cream as much as they can out of every ppv as they can,drop a few commentators and the girl with Johnny Nelson and that will save you a few bob. Ppv should be live from beginning to end without adverts and that goon adan smith,i set my alarm for 4am to watch the main event then i would watch the rest but that d!ckfaced moron gave me the result of cleverly vs jack,why the fck does he do that? Oh ye i forgot because he hasnt got a clue whats going on in the ring so he has to bring past fights and past fights from past events to keep the time clear of no one talking,sky need tk assess this quickly cause not everyone stays up all night on the cocain.

It's been this way for years. Adams made it all a farce. They won't ever learn because they think they are the top boys and don't have to. Sky was pathetic tonight am happy I dumped my subs years ago.

Totally agree with the OP.

I was hoping that BT's entry into the market as serious players would see Sky raise their game but they've got even worse. In the handful of big cards that BT have shown they've done really well i.e. a serious, sensible broadcasting professional presenting the show; attention paid to the corners between rounds; honest insightful reflections from articulate experienced pundits not cheerleading from ex fighters who can barely string a sentence together etc etc so if they were to show any PPVs I'd be optimistic that they'd do a much better job than Sky.

Sky boxing now is squarely aimed at the casual punter.

It was much worse for the Fury Klitschko fight though. Apparently adverts meant sky viewers missed his post fight interview when he apologised to Lennox Lewis, dedicated the win to his late a uncle and sang to his wife. Fortunately I had a HBO stream and watched it.

PPV channels mainly focus on yearly contracted subscribers such as Clubs, Pubs etc, which naturally gives them clear indication what they can afford to subscribe to telecasting rights. Home viewers tend to be unpredictable. e.g. If I really wanted to view May v Mac fight today, I'd venture to local RSL Club (all of 500m) away & blow 30 bucks on lunch & a few beers, instead viewing at home at $au59.95, which is 15 bucks less than my monthly cable TV subscription.

I listened to the Showtime team, still talk a load of bull but are a lot better than sky.

Adam Smith is a terrible commentator and as much as I like Froch, he's very poor on the mic - repetitive and boring.

Adverts on PPV is a travesty really. As if we're not already paying enough for Sky and then an additional PPV fee, they then have the gall to sell advertising time on top. The worst was when they missed Fury's post-fight singing after the Wlad fight because they'd cut to yet another fvcking ad.

When you think about it, it's like buying a film on dvd/blu-ray and getting adverts every ten minutes.

What is so bad with adverts during the boxing is, the broadcasters think the minute inbetween rounds is fare game and not part of the fight. It is though!

The advice from the corner or how the boxer acts, can really add to the fight.

The same with the walk-on music when the commentators shout over it to give you a fighters record or some other trivial fact that they will repeat 5 times during the fight.

It's greed, but it won't change. If they can get away with it, they'll keep getting away with it.

The only way they'll change is if people stop paying for the events. And let's face it, if people are going to be gullible enough to spend money on a one-sided, non-fight, they aren't going to stop paying because they have to sometimes watch adverts.

Yes, it seems that we're not allowed to listen to ANY corner talk now in a Sky broadcast. Years ago, although it was patchy, at least we heard SOME of it (Who can forget Adam Booth to George Groves after he had been decked by Kenny Anderson: 'Why are you slugging with a slugger?' George: 'Sorry!' And earlier...Adam: 'Stoic...Calm...' I miss all of that a lot).

But I'm convinced we don't get the talk from the trainers in case there's 'bad language' in it. Groan... It's all part of Sky's attempt to try to pretend everything's squeaky clean; just like they do with the football.

So another vote for bringing back corner talk; but under the current regime this won't happen. Wish it would.

Additionally, the commentators talk so much that we miss some of the stuff we want to hear - as mentioned the mid round stuff but I noticed that one of the Sky pricks gabbled on when Floyd and Conor exchanged words straight after the fight. I wanted to hear that rather than that cuntwomble Adam Smith
