You mean Barkley's prime right? Because it definitely wasn't Hearns' prime.

He was a tough, raw fighter who had some power, and was very brave and courageous and willing to trade, but he wasn't too terribly hard for the Elite guys to outbox or pick apart.

Tommy was lighting him up something fierce in the 1st fight with body shots before Barkley caught him.

I dont think Hearns had a terribly great chin. He was a bloody good fighter in his time but if you caught him he was very vulnerable.

Barkley was excellent. He was one of the scariest looking dudes around at the time and just as fierce as he looked.

Hearns was probably 30 seconds away from stopping Barkley he was landing some bombs and way to fast for Barkley.
As for Iran Barkley he was a very big middle weight who used his strength to win .

Iran Barkley was a very tough middleweight that always came to fight. He was always prepared. It wasn't like you just walk over him and beat him that easy. If you wasn't in your best of shape, mentally and physically, you will lose that fight with him. He was a fighter that fought to the best of his capabilities, win, lose or draw.

At times good; at times awful to mediocre. Never great. He could have had a better career had he always fought hard and smart.

The real question is Is there a more unlikely fight in all of boxing history than Iran Barkley versus Gerrie Coetzee?
