Agree! Compubox should never be mentioned on this site if people want to be taken seriously.

Ruthless-RKO wrote:CONOR McGregor defied all expectations by taking Floyd Mayweather to the 10th round and some stunning punch statistics reveal just how impressive the performance was.

While the Irish UFC star was beaten by TKO in Sunday’s megabout in Las Vegas, he landed 117 shots on the man regarded as the greatest defensive boxer of all-time.

That’s 30 more punches than Filipino legend Manny Pacquaio managed against Mayweather and only six less than Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez did in their 2015 fight.

Granted, McGregor faced a 40-year-old Mayweather and the American was much closer to his prime when he beat Pacquaio in May, 2015.
But it’s still a staggering statistic considering McGregor was making his boxing debut.

Mayweather outlanded McGregor 170-111. That advantage was built in the later rounds, as McGregor had a 42-28 advantage in punches landed after four rounds.

Pacquiao was among the many to pay tribute to both fighters, as others pointed out this fight had far surpassed Mayweather v Pacquaio as a spectacle.

In taking his win-loss record to 50-0, Mayweather broke the record of former heavyweight champion Rocky Marciano (49-0) for most wins without a loss or tie in boxing history.

According to CompuBox research, Mayweather became only the sixth championship-level fighter to win 50 consecutive fights to start his career — after Julio Cesar Chavez (87 wins), Nino Benvenuti (65), Willie Pep (62), Carlos Zarate (52) and Tom Bogs (52).
Conor was not in with Usain Bolt like Pac was.

conor can fight. what the evidence shows is he cannot box.

So that means he cant fight with his fist he doesn't know how to throw a punch that's why his power is no where to be found :OhYes: he needs to choke grapple that's ok if your not a BOXER :box:

basically yes. he can't box at anywhere near the level of a good professional .someone like bradley skeete in the uk would stop him imo, and skeete is not a banger.
as most people on here said , mma and boxing are very different sports.i like mma as much as boxing. the increase in ability in the top level mma fighters in the last decade has been great to watch.

mcgregors punching is just fine in an mma setting. the reverse would happen to floyd in the cage, without wrestling or grappling. as soon as floyd took a boxing stance his lead leg would be kicked . for someone that isn't used to being kicked in the lower leg and can't check kicks it would only need two or three kicks before they moved to a square on stance. that would take away the power from the boxer as they were forced to adopt a starting position for their punches (they probably wouldn't land as the mma figher would stay out of punching range) they would be unfamiliar with, removing all that muscle memory reaction/body position they are so familiar with.

horses for courses,i liked the idea of this fight as a spectacle, it was never a serious boxing contest.

the fact he actually put a glove on mayweather several times was a good result, imo of course.

There's nothing on those shots. He lands two upper cuts and neither do any damage at all.
