Khan: I'd Beat Kell Brook - I'll Only Fight Him if He Leaves Hearn!

Post by Ruthless-RKO »

Amir Khan is awaiting a date for a return to the ring so that he can finally put his miserable year behind him.

During his inactivity following the knockout defeat by Saul Alvarez, he has twice overhauled his team, struggled with a persistent hand injury, split from his wife Faryal Makhdoom, and wrongly accused her of cheating on him with Anthony Joshua.

Khan recently met with adviser Al Haymon and hopes to fight again before the year's end as he begins what he believes will be the final three years of his career.

He is also willing to consider an eventual fight with rival Kell Brook on the condition Brook is not working with promoter Eddie Hearn, but only after he has again won a world title and pursued rematches with Lamont Peterson and Danny Garcia.

Khan's old team is again by his side after the fighter had previously decided to work without father Shah, his uncle Taz and close friend Saj Mohamed, who were once his closest aides.
He is also again punching after his right hand required a third operation, and therefore finally looking towards the future.

"It's always tough," Khan responded when asked how difficult the past few months had been. "This has only given me the chance now to focus more on boxing. I'm going to have to prove people wrong.

"I need my old team back, those hard days of training, be dedicated. These are the last few years in my career, where I focus and don't make no more mistakes.

"From these fallouts, you learn to know yourself as well, and see everything around you. You get to see the real people around you, who's really looking out for you and who's not. I've got to see a lot of those things that make a lot of sense to me.

"There's a lot of people saying 'We can help you, we can do this for you, we can do that for you'. Your family's always going to be there looking out for your best interests.

"There was a lot of people who wanted to help but wanted to be looked out for themselves a lot more.

"I want to fight end of November, or early December. I know it's been a long time since the hand (injury), I had to have a third operation, but the hand's good now.

"I want to keep busy for the next three years, work hard, and then relax.

"(The ring is) where I'm comfortable. I need one fight, get it over, and then it's back to normal again.

"I want to win another world title and I want to get at least four to five fights, then call it a day.
"I'm left with that now and that's what I'm going to do."

A fight will Brook will long remain an option, but he said the Sheffield fighter must leave his promoter first.

"The only way I would take that fight is if he left Eddie Hearn. I just don't like Eddie Hearn, he's very disrespectful and he's never come clear with me," Khan said.

"Eddie Hearn said to me he knows I'd beat Kell Brook; there are levels in boxing. I don't really rate Kell Brook. I could take that fight and beat him but why should I give him the opportunity when he just talks trash all the time?"

Every time I hear Khan in the news it squeaks desperation. This is no different.
His relevance slides into obscurity like that pop star who had a hit a few years ago, you can't remember his name, or any of the words, but you can hum a few bars of the tune

He'd be adored if he stopped fuckin' moaning and taking fights the fans wanna see! I couldn't care less what he reckons about Hearn, Sky is the best platform for him to make a fortune.

I hope Kell somehow nets some good fights at 154 whilst Amir gets chinned over and over again off some top contenders.

Saying Brook without Hearn is like saying "I don't want this fight" he knows darn well Hearn is the only guy to not only make it happen, but attach the best payday, and exposure to it.
It's also the only headline fight I believe he can get. Peterson is an undercard or co- main event fight, with a purse reflecting that. From what I gather of Khan's inflated self worth, he wouldn't go for that. I also think Garcia has better and more lucrative options open to him.

How many times has he said "i will only fight Brook if........". Does he not realise his words are published in the media and we are all wathcing him constantly shift the goalposts as to why he wont fight Brook?

Quite sad really. Still a very good fight, but as is common place in boxing it would have been better a year or three ago.

And Brook should reply that he will fight him only if Khan lets him bang his misses first.

He's actually mental isn't he?! Disappeared under a sea of yes men and self-delusions, never to be seen again.

His house is also horrible:

The problem is he's not fighting and only getting attention for this sort of rubbish. Once he gets the mitts back on at his proper weight, his stock will rise again. At the end of the day, the geezer can fight

Khan is still deserving of the bigger slice of the pie should these two fight. We can argue about the relative merits of each guy's career til the cows come home but that's irrelevant now neither of them hold a title to bring any bargaining power to the table.

The simple fact is that more casuals have heard of Khan than Brook so he gets paid more.

Brook cuts an increasingly tragic figure in my eyes. He wasted his peak years fighting relative nobodies, took too long to muster the courage to step up to elite level and having done so stepped straight back down again before getting desperate for cash and taking an absurd risk for a big payday. His true level now is fighting the winner of Smith v Williams at 154 but Kell is deluded and would probably regard that fight as below him.

We should really create a thread titled: I will fight Kell Brook when: ..............,................ , I'm sure we would get some cracking answers.

Khan craves attention, this is another attempt to generate attention
