Carson Jones v Antonio Margarito

Post by Andrew »

Thought I'd post this seeing as thought British fight fans are very familiar with Carson Jones.

Margarito is shot and shouldn't be fighting.... But this fight may turn out to be decent.

Although true and he is clearly shot to sh!t, he has picked up half decent wins and is ranked 21 in the world and #1 in Mexico (according to boxrec) :o

That's a good level fight for Antonio, but he shouldn't be fighting - that eye is a mess.

Checking the schedule for next weekend

Apart from the dire NXTGen card on sky which I won't watch. This is all there is

Margarito should be long gone but this should be a pretty good fight.

Margarito used to play blackjack at the casino I worked at in San Diego.

After the Pacquiao fight one eye was about an inch lower than the other :oo

Lovely bloke though. The Mexican-American dealers would tell him I'm a boxing fan & he'd come and look for me at Craps or Roulette.

Same, hoping one of the bookies over here will offer odds on this. Reminds me a bit of when Arturo Gatti fought Carlos Baldomir. Baldomir was something like 3/1 to win. Made a killing that night.

Carson posts on here from time to time. If you check in mate, good luck - make sure your cornerman keeps a close eye when he's getting wrapped ;) :bag:

Will be Margarito's last impressive win, IMO.

Interesting fight. Margarito looks well past his best, and given how hard he was down against Paez I wonder if he's chin's been cracked. Jones is very capable of winning, but he's a hot or cold type.

Disgusting

Marg looked close to finished at the end of the 7th, but then all of a sudden his cut is too bad for him to continue and he wins a TD. The not so large cut was ruled to be the product of a butt, although it actually seemed caused by a left hook, and it hadnt gotten any worse since it was opened way back in the second. Marg and his team were all smiles as soon as they came out of the corner when the fight was stopped

Marg prob deserved 3 of the first 4, but Jones had been dominating from the 5th on and was really starting to beat his exhausted ass.

Farce. Poor jones had no chance. He's pounding a well known cheat and on top when the fight is stopped and he's declared the loser.

Sounds par for Cheato's career.

I'm convinced he had loaded gloves for Cotto, whom looked like a blood orange under a jack boot at the end.
