Kalle mentioned something on Twitter earlier about possibly sourcing the fights around a bit...and said in the coming days we'll see a good undercard come together. Fairplay if you ask me, fingers crossed.

Skoglund has to travel to Smith's hometown because Smith wouldn't travel to Dirrell's for a world title fight.
Smith would rather fight for a fake title in his hometown than fight for a real one in somebody elses.
Groves and Eubank jr are the only legitimate title holders in the competition.
Smith has to face the winner of Braehmer (LHW boiling down) and Brant (MW blowing up) should he beat Skoglund. Looks like Eddie may have greased a few palms in this one...

Eubank Jnr, legitimate title holder? Come on...

IBO is more legit than the WBC Diamond in my humble opinion...

Not disagreeing but neither are legit!!

Groves is the only 'proper' belt holder in the tournament.

But Benavidez still gets to fight for the title. Does anyone think that Smith would have boxed Benavidez?

Any word on TV deal for this yet? Quite a decent card there, plus the David Price comeback which could be fun. I'd have a bang on this if it was on ITV Box Office or wherever.

So does this mean ITV have brought the rights for the whole tournament?

Must be - if they were selling separately then Sky would chase Callum/Groves/Eubank.

Especially as Groves/Eubank semi would likely do decent PPV monies.

I'd imagine they will do what the BBC used to do and show undercard action afterwards. Obviously how comprehensive an amount of the undercard will be shown will depend on how quickly Smith wins.

Hoping they show it all it's a good card. Great news it's on terrestrial TV, I assume as others have said, the tournament will be some PPV and some free to air and I think that's fine by me.

Saturday night slots won't be easy on ITV as you have X-Factor for months now 8-10pm on prime time slot.

This is interesting from Luke who fought both of them;
"Most British boxing fans won't be aware of how good Skoglund is, but they definitely will be after this fight. This fight is a genuine 50-50. Everyone is underestimating Skoglund, but let me tell you now... he is one hell of a fighter!
"If Smith doesn't come with the right game plan, Skoglund will beat him. Whoever has the best game plan on the night will win.
"I really believe the winner of this fight has a good chance to go on and win the whole tournament. My prediction is that the winner of Smith-Skoglund will go on to face George Groves in the final. And what another great fight that would be!’’

This should be a great fight, both young undefeated fighters at a similar stage of their careers and a lot at stake for them, Smith is the bigger puncher but also a tidy boxer, works the body very well for a tall guy, can go through the motions when in with journeymen who are frustrating but raises his game when in with a test, the Blackledge fight was nearly a year ago and he wasn't brilliant that night but the KO he scored was

Ive seen a bit of Skoglund and despite not being a big puncher on paper, he's strong and aggressive, ive not seen him in a while mind so he's either regressed the more he's stepped up or he's raised his game, hopefully the latter and this should gel for an excellent fight

Still hard to say if this is Smith's toughest fight to date but i'd say its definitely Skoglund's
