Spot on. I realise that Hennessey is useless but a salesman needs a product and sadly Hughie just isn't an easy product to sell. He is a seemingly skilful but dull boxer with no punch or personality. He is certainly not the flag bearer for new media. This is more ground swallowingly embarrassing than ground breaking and no broadcaster wants to take the risk that either the fight is called off or possibly even worse that the fight happens and is extremely dull.

Some women with stalkers have more followers than Hughie Fury and this will be a new low for PPV sport.
Hennessy at one point had Carl Froch who had just won the WBC title against Jean Pascal in an entertaining fight live on ITV 1 on a Saturday night. And after that he couldn't sort proper TV deals out for his fights against Taylor and Kessler etc. Taylor was shown a day later on ITV 4 and Kessler on Primetime. How in gods name can you not get ITV, Sky, Channel 5 etc etc etc to not pick fights like that up.

I reckon if Hennessy was given a cure for all the diseases in the World he could be sent into a hospital and fail to sell it.
Hennessy is like an old salmon who even after 10 years will return to the stream.

Hughie is probably the most boring boxer in the UK. He literally does everything he can to make a fight as boring as possible. Don't think I've ever been able to watch a full fight of his, not counting the easy blowouts.

On Facebook Hennessey has made about 4 posts about this bein on youtube and in total it has about 15 "likes" some a percentage of which are the laughing ones. It really does sum up how small time this all is.

I sincerely doubt it will happen but imagine if Hughie wins.

after this the furys should really dump Mick. He has had plenty of chances but in reality is a small hall promoter without a tv deal. Word on twitter is it needs 250,000 buys just to break even.

This. It wouldn't get near.

This fight is an example of a guy who should have been on regular free to air/normal Sky shows and built a profile. He's now in a heavyweight title fight with a profile on comparison with your local GP.

Agree. If it does 25k i would be surprised. This will be very easy to steam and if people pay for a PPV they want it on there tv not on an ipad or laptop. I guess he couldnt land a tv deal so this was his last option.

If it does 2.5k buys it will be a miracle.

Hennessy must have burnt a lot of bridges in the past for it to come to this.

Sounds like a huge balls up all round. Hughie has bollock all following, and is hardly considered a wildly exciting fighter. This should never have been ppv, its going to fall flaton its arse. This will possibly be the least viewed heavyweight world title fight since the pre tv era.

Mick comes across like a bumbling character in a late seventies-early eighties sitcom whose catchphrase is 'bloody hellfire'.

I have little to no interest in this and the undercard is also garbage. So it'll be the second 'PPV' I've turned down recently after the Mayweather-McGregor farce.

Even back then James, you could watch the fights at the cinema, or highlights on the news reels pre-feature. So less than pre film fights :maybe:

Doesn't Toney/Nunn hold the record (still) for all-time low PPV buys at something like 25k? Can this beat that?

This won't even come close to 25k buys. They can't even sell out the arena ffs.

This fight wont sell well on youtube simply because it will be piss easy to stream it free via Kodi. Not only that it will be on Twitter and Facebook for bugger all along with Modbro and many many other streaming mediums. 3 million plus illegally streamed the Mayweather v McGregor fight but cannot imagine that amount with this fight but it will be piss easy to get a free stream from this show. I cannot imagine that Youtube will give a shite either.
