For such a big fight the undercard should've been stacked with good fights like:
BJS vs Monroe Jr
Wisaksil Wangek vs Roman Gonzalez II
Juan Francisco Estrada vs Carlos Cuadras
Naoya Inoue vs Antonio Nieves
Where would the money come from to pay them all? Canelo and Ggg will be getting very tidy paydayd.apollo creed wrote:Yeah it's %hit, garbage, a spit in the face.

For a moment i thought you meant the undercard you listed and was irritated...apollo creed wrote:Yeah it's %hit, garbage, a spit in the face.

It's rare that they do add value. Hell, it's rare they are this good.jujigatame wrote:They're not bad fights, they're just the type of fights I could watch just about any weekend on free TV. They don't add much value at all.
I know, which is why I rarely buy boxing PPVs. I've bought maybe 3 in the last 5 years.SaadOffTheDeck wrote:It's rare that they do add value. I don't blame you, streams were so much better and reliable a decade ago that I never bought any. I get suckered into at least 60% of the Boxing and I buy almost all of the UFC events(though not as many this year).jujigatame wrote:I know, which is why I rarely buy boxing PPVs. I always thought that a Floyd, DLH, or Manny payday (20M+)
should have like a 1M "donation" to a solid undercard matchup.
Meaning, I think there should be a Jones Jr./Hopkins (160) or Garcia/Mattysse fight
as "co-main event" on every big card. The money is there, and it's not even a big amount,
but it would make a HUGE difference in the quality of the sport's PPV offerings.
What would the total purse of Cuadras/Inoe be?
A fight like that is chump change to GGG/Canelo's purse,
but it would the PPV a virtual must buy for most boxing fans.
But greed, capitalism, entitlement, blah, blah, blah ...
Right? How can anyone have a problem with these undercard fights? Golden Boy has been doing this lately and I love it. I'm usually happy with one undercard fight that could go either way. We have 4 fights on the card that could go either way though I don't know much about these boxers i must admit. I know Diaz and De La Hoya but not much about the others. Randy Caballero (24-0; BoxRec #25) vs Diego De La Hoya (19-0; BoxRec #15)
Joseph Diaz (24-0; BoxRec #9) vs Jorge Lara (29-0-2; BoxRec #16)
Ryan Martin (19-0; BoxRec #50) vs Francisco Rojo (20-2; BoxRec #18)
This is actually better than I expected

That kind of undercard would deserve to be next to Canelo-GGG super fight.
