HW #2 ?
Re: HW #2 ?
For me (no counting the Furious one or Wlad)
(Joshua)
Wilder
(Povetkin)
Pulev
Parker
Ortiz
(miss quite a few others)
Whyte
(Joshua)
Wilder
(Povetkin)
Pulev
Parker
Ortiz
(miss quite a few others)
Whyte

Not sure he's still Top 5 at this point.Heretic wrote:Easily Povetkin
Re: HW #2 ?
Even Pulev has better resume than Wilder... I would actually even give him decent chance of beating Wilder.

How does Pulev have a better resume than Wilder?Heretic wrote:Even Pulev has better resume than Wilder... I would actually even give him decent chance of beating Wilder.
Re: HW #2 ?
Can't see how Pov isn't top 5, at least going by resume.
Re: HW #2 ?
I'd say pulev has very good chance of beating wilder. He's definitely a better boxer, but Wilders big over hand right could well spark out pulevgilgamesh wrote:How does Pulev have a better resume than Wilder?Heretic wrote:Even Pulev has better resume than Wilder... His resume has to be the equal of Wilders also

Re: HW #2 ?
personally I can easily imagine Pulev beating Wilder, it's a 60/40 fight with Wilder having the better chances. I think Joshua/Pulev would have a similar outcome like Klitschko/Pulev.
Re: HW #2 ?
If they were in their primes, Frank Bruno would definitely beat Wilder and maybe also Povetkin. That's how bad the division is. Fury being the lineal champ means nothing. This is not geometry. Ring Magazine keeps him as their champ even though he announced his retirement. If a boxer says he is retired, boxrec removes him from active status. Fury has been inactive for nearly two years. If Klitschko and Fury were still active, then the division would be more interesting.ValMar wrote:You do exaggerate....Every fukcing year since 1977 - Anthony Joshua would have been top 10 HW, Tyson Fury (Chisora 2 version) too.RScarf1 wrote:Well, now it's really true.tiny_acres wrote: I've read that same line since 1977.
Wilder, Ortiz, clean Povetkin and fit Haye would have been among top 20, certainly.
Joyce, Yoka, Hrgović, Dychko and Dubois are coming (and Usyk, I hope).....Not so bad.......

I heard you before, still think you're wrong. Extremely wrong.ValMar wrote:No ! He would have been among top 10 (every year), as I said before. He defeated Wlad, and there are/were not a lot of fighters capable for that.SaadOffTheDeck wrote:Fury would have been a punching bag in the late 80's-90's.

I think you simply don't realise how much the sizedifference is. Povetkin is a midget compared to Tyson Fury, but he's still far bigger as Mike Tyson for example.SaadOffTheDeck wrote:I heard you before, still think you're wrong. Extremely wrong.ValMar wrote:No ! Re: HW #2 ?
I do not think that more than 5 HWs (active since 2000) could outbox Fury (considering Chisora 2 or Klitschko version). OK, his chin was pretty weak, at best the average one, and his punch power was no more than solid, but his height, reach and skillset were too much for Wladimir - the man who had been ruling more than a decade.SaadOffTheDeck wrote:I heard you before, still think you're wrong. I don't think anyone after 2000 has much to do with the late 80's- early 90's era I mentioned.ValMar wrote:I do not think that more than 5 HWs (active since 2000) could outbox Fury (considering Chisora 2 or Klitschko version). It's like if I said Germany was a nasty place to be in the late 30's- early 40's and you responded I was there last year and it was lovely.
Re: HW #2 ?
OK, I claim that Tyson Fury would have been at top ten HW in 1988, and 1998, and 2008. You do not think so, obviously.....I am off topic, again....Sorry.....Tyson Fury is not a part of this thread..........SaadOffTheDeck wrote:It's like if I said Germany was a nasty place to be in the late 30's- early 40's and you responded I was there last year and it was lovely.
