The GGG/Canelo fight is getting all the publicity and rightly so as it was the fight fans wanted to see most. But there is a chance that the fight doesn't live up to expectations in my mind. Actually, it will be VERY difficult for the fight to live up to expectations considering how long fans have been calling for it.
Roman Gonzalez vs. Sor Rungvisai is going to be an all out bloody classic of a war and there's no way it won't be. Their first fight was a classic with all sorts of momentum flows and drama. It was one of those rare fights in which i was exhausted at the end and all i did was drink 4 beers and 5 pieces of pizza without leaving the couch. That's what a great fight will do to you. I'm fired up for Saturday and the card looks like a blast because all 3 fights are set up to be a lot of fun. We finally get to see Inoue live as he's set to face the winner of the main event.
Does RG get it done or is this kid just too big and relentless for him? How does this fight shake out in your mind? I can't wait.
I am very interested in how Chocolatito deals with this fight. While he deserved the decision in the first one he absorbed a ton of punishment. He faces another very brutal war with Rungvisai.
I see it as a battle of wills more than anything else. Gonzales had to put it all out in the first fight only to have the decision go against him.
One interesting factor is that Rungvisai is generally much busier than he has been this year, although he generally fills his schedule with debutantes and no hopers. Still, it is different for him. What effect may that have?
It is easy to go with the offended P4Per, but I do not think that it is a stretch to see Chocolatito stopped by TKO on cuts or simple attrition.
Rungvisai is a very strong fighter, and he looks like the bigger man. Gonzalez will have to go through hell again. Remember, Cuadras has not at all talked about rematching Rungvisai because he was very lucky to get the fight stopped on a headclash. Rungvisai is a live dog again, and I can see Gonzalez losing more clear if Rungvisai starts chopping down that body.

Good points here but I can't see RG not winning this fight. I'm not sure who the ref is going to be in this fight but that's definitely going to be a huge factor. I think that RG could have been better protected in the first fight by the ref and Rungvisai was allowed to do anything he wanted. Especially considering that the first round knockdown was from a head but in my opinion and no one caught that. Maybe i'm wrong.
I'm pretty sure most of the top Thais stick to their sponsor/ring name name. It was BoxRec who decided to start using their birthnames, and that has created some confusion.

Thai fighters in particular seem to have A Ring Name and their Birth Name. They fight under their ring name. English speaking outlets sometimes insist on calling them by their birthname, the fighters themselves I believe would prefer to be known by their Ring name though I can't say for sure.
In Thailand there's almost never a time when a fighter doesn't have 2 names like this. Not sure if it's standard in other countries. Combat Sports in general are huge in Thailand.
