George Groves vs Jamie Cox

Post by diddy »

Who the F is Jamie Cox and why is Groves only -390
against him? Groves is pretty clearly a guy who is world class
judging by his competitive efforts vs guys like Froch, DeGale, Jack.

Who is this clown he's fighting?

Cox is super overrated by a lot of people in British boxing. He gets talked up on sparring stories where he allegedly KOs good fighters left and right, yet when it comes to actual fights he regularly looks mediocre and has to go the distance against lacklustre opposition.

He should also already have a loss against Obodai Sai, who is a Derrick Webster KTFO 1 victim.

I think he's the weakest link out of all the Super Series entrants, both at CW and SMW.

The organizers fucked up picking 168, if they would have picked 115, we'd probably have it on HBO

If DeGale and Ramirez would have been involved, as well as Benavidez, it would have legitimately been a super tourney.

This! He spars hard and has his videos online. I remember people were criticizing a video of him beating the crap out of Esquivia Falcao (I think it was) in sparring. I think Groves is going to KO this fool and show why sparring stories=/=great fighter.

I believe that DeGale is out due to injury. The rest? :maybe:

He probably is overrated by some but he's no mug and if groves is off his game he could be in trouble.

Thank god they didn't do 115 or we'd probably not have it in UK

I'm not sure if he's any better than David Brophy. He's beaten no one and has looked 'eh' several times. Maybe he really does have loads of talent, but so far he doesnt seem to show it in fights.

He has improved his defence a bit but is still easy to hit.
He could drag Groves into a war as Georgie loves to fight.
Don't worry about the betting odds, I think this fight is going to be a good watch. :box:
