ive been off work the last few days with a horrible cold, so ive been hiring a lot of movies to keep myself entertained. when i was in the video store i noticed a box set off 6 muhammad ali videos, so i hired them.
they were good films, but now that ive watched them all ive been left with alot of questions...
1. i dont know the deal about the sonny liston fights being fixed, could someone post a link to a site explaing it or just tell me what happened.
and were both fights "fixed" or just the second?
2. does anyone think rocky marciano had the right style to give ali real problems? i think he was similar to frazier and norton in the was he always came forward and was real tough
3. im not asking if he would have beaten joe louis or not because it has been done before, but i wanna know which version of ali would have fared better against joe louis, the young dancing ali who was quiker but didnt have as much strength, or the older ali, who, was still quick (but not as) andwould only dance for a few rounds, but could take many punches and was a bit stronger
Some questions about Muhammad Ali

The Liston fights were not 'fixed' in as much as Ali was unaware of any wrongdoing. Liston basically quit in both contests for reasons known only to him.
Yes, Marciano did have a style that would have troubled Ali but I think Ali would have scored a late TKO win because he threw 'slashing' punches and Marciano would have been badly cut up.
Ali v Louis would have been a very interesting match. The younger, faster Ali would probably have scored a points win.
Just my opinions :-)

2. Good observation... the young Ali seemed too quick for Marciano though
3. I'd take the 60s over the 70s Ali against any fighter.
