Oleksandr Usyk vs Marco Huck
Usyk defends his WBO Cruiserweight title against former champ Huck, doubling up as the 1st QF of the WBSS, I just cant see Huck in with a sniff of winning this, even with his experience and strength, I thought he looked totally gun shy in the Briedis fight, he really struggled with the movement and Usyk has better movement than Briedis
Usyk himself had some quiet spells against Hunter in his last fight but he finsished strong and had Hunter reeling around the ring in the last round, I cant see Huck winning a round in this one, I think Usyk will outbox him for the first 6/8 rounds but I think he'll go for the stoppage down the stretch and I reckon he might get one late on in about the 11th
Still no idea how ITV are planning on showing this, apparently not live, there isn't an ITV Box Office channel on Virgin so if it is getting shown free later I'm not sure how Virgin viewers will see it, maybe via On Demand??

Honestly pal I'm on Virgin and sometimes I feel they just exclude us everything seems to be tailored around SKY !handsofstone wrote:Usyk defends his WBO Cruiserweight title against former champ Huck, doubling up as the 1st QF of the WBSS, I just cant see Huck in with a sniff of winning this, even with his experience and strength, I thought he looked totally gun shy in the Briedis fight, he really struggled with the movement and Usyk has better movement than Briedis

Got a feeling Huck will last the distance, but see Usyk with a clear win on the cards.

Isn't that new freeview sports channel, I forget it's name, not meant to be on Virgin either?kbackup408 wrote:

Liked Huck for years because he will fight anyone and is one of the toughest fighters out there. It's a shame he never rematched Lebedev or fought Wlod.
But he was absolutely awful against Breidis. When's it was so obvious he was losing he didn't adjust at all.
I rate Usyk highly but he needs a dominant performance to stake his claim as the best cruiserweight in the world. Last roll of the dice for Huck but I think it will be one sided in Usyks favour.

Huck seems completely done. But, I have thought that before.
Huck's corner throws the towel late.

Huck has been in some tough fights... but these German based boxers never seem to get completely shot.... so many seem finished and then come back with some big wins.
However on a completely different angle, Huck is one of the ugliest world champions of recent times

Problem I see for Huck in this one is that Usyk has 12 round stamina to go along with superior boxing skills. Huck has been able to grind down and outlast more skillful opponents, but now he's facing another guy who closes strong.

I find it hard to see Huck lasting the distance, his defence is not great and he leaves himself open a lot. Usyk will be able to take advantage of the openings and should be able to put him away.

Re: Oleksandr Usyk vs Marco Huck
A really good finish from Usyk as soon as he knew he finally got to Huck in the 10th he opened up on him, kept calm and showed good variety and accuracy, it was the right call from the ref, Huck was spent, I never gave Marco a round but he made a better fist of it than he did in the Briedis fight, brave going out show but he was reduced to wild lunges and he couldn't even rough Usyk up as much as he normally does to guys
Usyk boxed well, good breaking down of a still fairly dangerous fighter, he had his lulls again though but when it came down to the crunch he raised his game so fair play
The Loma of the Cruiserweight division comparasions are way off though, maybe Loma first 2/5 fights but Loma evolved much quicker and Usyk has a bit to go

Not caught up with this fight yet. Always been a bit of a fan of the Kap'n, didn't like his chances vs Usyk but i thought he'd at least go the distance. Can anyone in the cruiser div beat Usyk now?

I am taking Briedis to get by Perez and upset Usyk.Ricky_ wrote:Not caught up with this fight yet. Always been a bit of a fan of the Kap'n, didn't like his chances vs Usyk but i thought he'd at least go the distance. Can anyone in the cruiser div beat Usyk now?

That'll be a good fight that one. Fancy Usyk but Breidis should have his moments.Tanzio wrote:I am taking Briedis to get by Perez and upset Usyk.Ricky_ wrote:Not caught up with this fight yet.
