actually he was announced to make a pro debut this year

He has the potential to be a great prospect - in 2015 he won 7 fights in WSB inside 3 months, 6 of them by KO inside 2 rounds and the other fight won by wide decision 50:44 if i remember well.

If I had to bet everything I had on just one out of the many recent heavyweight prospects succeeding in rising to the top of the division, I'd pick this guy. Only this week I watched him beat and stop Andrey Afonin who is himself a top prospect. He looked very impressive indeed. Wierzbicki another good prospect was made to look very ordinary by Hrgovic.

yeah Hrgović absolutely dominated Wierzbicki and it seems that Hrgović is improving very quickly and he is still young.

I really want to see this guy turn pro soon. He has lots of potential, but to fully develop as a pro it would be best not to leave it much longer.

Yes, that's definitely his biggest shortcoming from what I've seen.

According to an article linked on his Wikipedia page, he was planning to turn pro in September, but it seems like that isn't happening.

Incidentally, I notice that shortly before the 2016 Olympics he lost to Mihai Nistor, who now has wins over AJ (stoppage) and Hrgovic, and was the first to defeat Clemente Russo in WSB competition (Russo was then something like 20-0). Not bad for a short tubby guy!

It's mainly when he throws that very efficient straight right with full power... it's slow... but the timing on it is great which compensates so far... but as the level of opposition would grow tougher int he pro ranks, it would be a problem
