Off topic: What do you think.

Guys,

Just a bit of plugging here, but it would be nice to know the opinion of you guys on my Brothers band, now they have a website and some of their songs (not their best ones IMO) available via myspace.com

You can be as brutally honest as possible, just trying to guage an opinion and some publicity.

Ye the music sounds pretty good, But its always hard to say when you listen to music on myspace as the singing doesent come across well.

I see they are based up north, Some old friends of mine play on the Cardiff Circuit which seems quite happening, Club Ivor Bach and those type of places I'm told those are the places you need to be playing these days.

I liked it, but the trouble is there is a lot of this type of stuff knocking around at the moment and it's hard to stand out from the crowd. Was good though

Yes, at the moment they seem to focusing adapting the stuff from my Brothers Solo Albums (which was slower and acoustic) and making them more rockier.

What I think they do different to most of the bands I have heard are the close, 60's inspired, harmonies.

I was going to say - the harmonies on the first track especially reminded me of a couple of Beatles notes first time I listened to it.

They're pretty good, although finding a niche or whatever will be the tricky part. You say they've been trying to 'rock things up.' That's probably the way to go. They could probably go even further - verging on shouting lyrics or punk something - so that there is a huge contrast to the 60s-type harmonies. That could give them the distinctiveness.

vocals was good they should stick with that its quite a good unique style. I think the guitar parts could have a bit more depth, thats the main thing. Maybe make the guitar a bit busier. Bass n drummer good. I think theres a good foundation to work with, n now musically as well as vocally they need their own sound. The biggest mistake musicians make nowadays is neglecting the versatility of the guitar. Did hendrix teach u people nothing?!?!?!

Drummer since those demo's has left the band by mutual consent. The two founding members seem to be happier with the new drummer although its earlier days.

My Brother is the guitarist and leads vocals (and songwriter) so I'll pass on what you have said... Cheers.
