So norbert is the man that is levels above burton and buglioni. Mmmmmmmmm he has been a super middle the majority of his career and lost against anyonr with an ounce of skill.

This is poor match making and is designed to do one thing, make yarde look a KO machine.

Ford was booked in to fight Jimmy Sweeney bare knuckle last night. He can't be that good.

He wouldve easily been Yarde's best opponent and I doubt hed just come to survive like the next Hungarian probably will. His opportunities have been limited by his inability to box in the US, and he doesnt fit the profile of a guy who would be picked up by a major Quebec promoter, which leaves him with little here.

Hence his biggest fights in places like Signapore and Thailand, and weak opposition locally. He has an MMA background and has fought with tiny gloves, so him looking into bareknuckle doesnt really surprise me.

Regardless, hopefully Yarde fights someone decent soon.

I also know how much bare knuckle pays, and how "good" Sweeney is.

Yarde can't be happy with this.

They turned down £100k to fight Burton in a big fight on Sky and they've ended up with this where he'll probably make £30k(?) and get nothing from it.

I'd bet it was closer to £150k as well in purse bids.

So Yarde is happy with this? The fight against Burton wouldn't have been a big fight on Sky?

Both amounts are guesses but it wouldn't surprise me if there's a c.£70k swing

The opponent they haven't ended up with is abit dissapointing but IMHO people should look at the bigger picture before jumping on this matchroom BS in regards to Hosea Burton.

The fight with Burton makes no sense when you look at the bigger picture. Yarde and his manager/trainer Tunde have continuously said they are on a journey and are confident of reaching their destination - they don't seem overly fussed about chasing after short term money. Frank W is the man they have chosen to sign with, a man who has a long relationship with Tunde so they must havd faith with him and the direction this journey is taking.

Yarde is a BT/BN fighter- he won't be appearing on a hearn/sky card anytime soon.

long before the board made the decision to call a mandatory keeping Johnson and Burton away from each ether simply to suit Gallagher and Hearn nobody on any forum was asking for Yarde to fight Burton who is coming off a KO defeat and his best win is probably over English level Jahmaine Smyle. All of a suddden, Hearn is talking crap about purse bids when he knows Frank will pull out of it (as Hearn would have if it was the over way around as he has done in the past) and then sheep start the ducking nonsense.

Yarde/Warren wanted to go direct to Buglioni after he issued Yarde with a challenge, they made the offer only for this board decision to come out of nowhere allowing Buglioni and his team (see Don Charles interview on it) to start hiding behind Burton..You couldn't make it up.

Let's see where Yarde is this time next year. We all know about franks relationship is with the WBO...Ward will probably vacate or be stripped in the near future when that belt becomes vacant you can guess who will be up for a shot at it.

They were happy for Burton/Yarde to take place on BN/BT though.

Nemesapati isn't going to help his development - he'll walk through him inside 3.

Why was Original opponent changed ? I see he fought in Canada on Sat night.

No mate, they where clear that they wasn't interested in any talk of Burton from the minute the board made their announcement.

Frank and Yarde made it clear the only interest would Buglioni which they offered big money for and It was Buglioni who started calling Yardes name in he first place a few months before.

Nemespati whilst not being fantastic is actually probably Yarde's best opponent to date so it's not all bad. Yes he lost, quite a few but Dirrell, Feigenbutz and C Smith etc have fought him in recent times so he is not a complete no hoper and will probably extend Yarde who is a patient fighter anyway to 3 or 4 rounds which would be good for him.

Only warren and ford would know what the issue was, but all I would say is that Ford was the one who announced the fight on social media a few days before Frank so he had reached an agreement at the beginning...maybe he came back and asked for silly money or something or maybe Frank wanted to change something who knows.

Burton is a former British champion and Wud b yardes toughest fight to date. It's simple win the purse bid for the final eliminator then become mandatory by winning it. It's more cannon fodder for him to look explosive against. in the long term will do him no good. He needs tests b4 he gets to a world title shot or if he gets to that stage. Also why did they offer Ricky summers the fight for 16th September in the first place. (Only reason it hasn't happened Ricky been away on family holiday) has his ranked lower than burton

Because they're not interested in fighting Burton- I don't think Yarde is all that bothered about the British title full stop. Just because the board made there BS call to
Suit Hearn and Gallaghers agenda doesn't mean that Frank and Yarde have to dance to that tune. Yarde could litterly face countless other kids who are far better then Burton so why are people so determined to jump on the ducking bandwagan...

As for winning the purse bid it's not that simple. Especially as Hearn would have been no doubt been banking on sticking the fight on AJs undercard meaning we will have a massive amount of funds at his disposal- frank trying to outbid him for a fight which in reality not that many would be bothered about makes little sense. Especially as winning it doesn't guarantee that you get the automatic right to fight the champion next. The rules would allow for a voluntary which pushes everything back further when it's not necessary.

It's all opinions but Yarde is having only his 13th pro fight and had little amateur experenice- there is nobody better in this business then guiding a fighter from scratch. They will step it up as they see fit, but it's all opinions.

Amongst all of this Burton isn't scheduled to fight.

If I were Gallagher I'd cut the chat and get him booked in for a fight sharpish. Sitting on his arse talking about Anthony Yarde isn't going to improve his ranking or his profile.

Very good point. IMO Hearn doesn't really give a monkeys about Burton- he's not a priority in any sense. This was just an opportunity for Hearn to use Hosea as a pawn in his dick measuring contest with Frank W

I don't even know that Burton is officially signed to Matchroom. Obviously there are a lot of fighters that appear regularly on Matchroom shows but often they will be on a fight by fight deal rather than longer term contracts.

Lot of good points on this page but I still feel that Warren allowing Yarde to fight Burton gives him a) a bigger platform on Sky b) more fans c) a lot of money and d) a step up and proper test whether he's going for the British or not.

Frank's produced two fighters with paper records back to back now for Yarde, Baranyi was of course a joke, I don't know what that Canadian would have been like but I just feel considering how high Yarde is rated that the best way to laugh at Hearn would be to do that fight and win easy and make that money.

Any idea on an opponent? I'd imagine at this notice it will be an 8 rounder against someone like Jamie Ambler.

You say FW offered "Big Money" to Buglioni - but he offers loads of money to loads of fighters - how many ever get made ?

Verdejo / Selby / McDonnell / Linares / Buglioni etc.

Flanagan has fought bin men since winning World Title - easiest mandatory defences ever - he calls everyone out on Twitter yet Petr Petrov is best the could get.

McDonnell was accepted waited on contract for weeks - fight on BT/BN - then pulled plug on the offer.

You say Big Money but he's not delivering any in recent times ?

I agree with this.

The route they've taken Yarde doesn't make sense for him - they only make sense for FW and BT Sports. If they were confident they should have turned up on Sky, got well paid and boost his profile.
